Is Nevada Tea Party Candidate A Plant?

Florida was the first state to have a Tea Party political party registered.  It has been a controversial move and decried by the tea party groups in Florida.  Conservatives know that a third party would take away votes in the November elections and let the Marxists continue their onslaught.  Now Nevada has a registered Tea Party political party as well.  The candidate who co-registered the group and is running on the ticket in Nevada is very similar to the Floridian Tea Party candidate.

Scott Ashjian is the Nevada candidate.  He is a lawyer and owes $200,000 in back taxes.  Frederic O’Neal is the Florida candidate and he is a lawyer who owes $155,000 in back taxes.  Coincidence?  O’Neal is also a former Democrat.  There may be nothing nefarious here, but I would not put it past the Progressives to start these political parties and fund the candidates in an effort to take votes away from the Republicans.  After a Rasmussen Poll revealed that a Tea Party candidate would beat out both Republicans and Democrats, who would doubt the conniving minds of Progressives?

The Patriot Caucus has run a poll asking if people would like Scott Ashjian to step aside and over 90% say, “Yes.”  No tea party organizer will vouch for Ashjian either.  The same is true in Florida for the candidate here.  Twenty Nevada Tea Party groups have released a public statement as follows:

For Immediate Release: March 10, 2010
From Nevada grassroots and tea party leaders
Subject: Unified Statement / Grassroots Nevada is United

We, the grassroots/tea party leaders of Nevada, speaking for the conservative activists in our communities, are united in issuing the following statement.

• We are united in denouncing the TPN (Tea Party of Nevada).
-o The TPN is not a conservative party who speaks for grassroots and tea party activists in Nevada.
-o The TPN is not now, has never been, and will never be affiliated with grassroots efforts in Nevada.
-o The term “Tea Party Candidate” will no longer be used to indicate grassroots support for a candidate or candidates.
-o The TPN will not be invited to or allowed to represent themselves at conservative grassroots events and functions across Nevada.
• We are united in our desire for fiscal responsibility, transparency, and accountability from legislators and in legislation from Carson City, NV and Washington, D.C.
• We are united in opposition of progressive leanings towards unfunded mandates as a solution to appeasing special interest and delivering ‘social justice’.
• We are united in the belief that our government should be inspiring pride and accountability, and personal strength and opportunity, not a path for us to follow to have our needs met as the government sees fit.

We, the tea party activists and grassroots organizers in Nevada, are united.

Even Comic Book Heroes Turning Against American Values

I have been a fan of comic books since I was a kid.  I used to like reading the Archie comics, Richie Rich, Disney and the occasional horror genre comic.  But my absolute favorites and the ones that I still purchase today are the super hero comics.  Based on how well the movies inspired by these comics do in ticket sales, I would venture to guess that most Americans like super heros.  But lately it would seem that the comics and their heroes do not value America and her values as much as the majority of her citizens.

My eyes were first opened to this when the very American hero of Superman changed his slogan that debuted in the 50s from “Truth, justice and the American way” to simply just “Truth and justice.”  It was an indication that the marketers of Superman no longer felt that there was value in using “the American way.”  Could it be that their was shame about what that term defined?  Had Superman jumped on the Hollywood bandwagon of blame America first and focus on her faults?  Apparently so.  There was a bit of an outcry when this originally happened in 2006, but nobody is paying it much attention now.

Superman is from the DC Universe.  Could those same opinions cross over to the Marvel Universe?  Yes indeed and they have.  And what really makes this despicable is that the controversy that has erupted this week has spawned from a Captain America comic book.  This is a hero that embodies America.  Much like DC’s Wonder Woman who fought off the Nazis during World War II, Captain America was always fighting for America whether it was Nazis or The Cold War.  Now apparently, Captain America thinks concerned citizens in America are the enemy.  Marvel and Captain America have bought into the media lies that tea party attendees are a bunch of red-necked racists.

The comic depicts a scene in Issue 602 that features Captain America investigating a right-wing anti-government militia group called “the Watchdogs”.  Captain America is shown in the scene with a partner named Falcon and he explains to him that he wants to infiltrate the group.  Falcon is a black character.  The image I included with this post is an image from the scene the two characters are observing and it looks like a tea party gathering to me.  The Falcon observes that the sentiments they are watching from the “Watchdog” group are not limited to them and he wonders how he will fit in with these angry white people.  Captain America plans to have Falcon pose as an IRS agent to fuel the anger.  Because everyone knows a black IRS agent is like Satan to us tea bagging hicks.

People like myself have been outraged by this and called for an apology from Marvel and they have issued one.  At least they pretended to apolgize.  As Yahoo news reports:

The clear implicit attack on the Tea Party Movement was first noticed by Publius’ Forum’s Warner Todd Huston.  When a minor uproar ensued, Marvel Comics editor-in-chief Joe Quesada spoke to Comic Book Resources and defended the issue while apologizing for the panel that seemed to tie real-life Tea Party protesters to the fictional group depicted in the book.

Saying that he could “absolutely see how some people are upset about this,” Quesada said that there was “zero discussion to include a group that looked like a Tea Party demonstration,” adding, “There was no thought that it represented a particular group.”

Quesada then went on to say that Marvel would “apologize for and own up to” a series of “stupid mistakes” that led to them “accidentally identifying” one of the members of the protest group “as being a part of the Tea Party instead of a generic protest group.” He explained that they were on deadline to get the issue to the printer for publication, and in the course of sending it off it was noticed that the signs in the scene contained no words or phrases. He said the editor then asked the letterer to “fudge in some quick signs” and that in the “rush to get the book out of the door,” the letterer “looked on the net and started pulling slogans” from signs captured in photographs at Tea Party protests in order to make them appear “believable.”

Doesn’t sound like much of an apology to me.

A Plan For Conservatives In 2010

Divided we fall, united we stand.  That is going to be the theme for the 2010 elections.  Conservatives face a unified and strong front on the left.  After the losses we suffered in 2008, particularly the presidency, we have learned that we must move forward differently in the future and learn to use the tools that the left beat us with.  Those tools include the Internet through blogs, social networking via Facebook and Twitter and other sites; community activism and organization; and registering people to vote and ensuring they make it to the polling place.  The left used all of these tools effectively.  The good news is that conservatives have begun to master all of these weapons and we now rule Twitter and Facebook and the Tea Party Movement has demonstrated that we can protest against the best of liberal community organizing groups.

But the question remains whether conservatives can unite in the way that is required.  There is an area of contention within the conservative ranks between backing a third party or working within the Republican Party.  Although it leaves a bad taste in the mouth, based on ineptness and a lack of principles in the past, we need to work within the two party system through the Republican Party at this time and there are many reasons why.

Number one, there are many people that just vote the party line and do not pay much attention to politics and consider themselves Republicans because their spouse is a Republican or their family of origin were Republicans.  We witnessed this in NY23 with Dede Scozzafava’s name on the ballot.

Number two, we must face reality and the truth is that there is not enough time to garner the money and support needed to support a third party.

Number three, getting behind a third party means choosing a particular third party and which one would we choose?   Conservatives are a group that has people who belong to the Constitution Party, Whig Party, Libertarian Party, Conservative Party and Tea Party.  Which one do we support when all run on similar platforms?  This only serves to split our vote and as pointed out previously, we face a united foe.  Observe the left for a moment.  They fall on all different sides of various issues whether it is abortion, the War on Terrorism, Gay Marriage, fiscal responsibility, etc.  And yet they can all unite as we have observed with the healthcare insurance reform debate and subsequent bills.  This is because they are united behind the goal of power.  Ultimately, that is complete government control.  We know this to be true because we watched “principled” people receive payoffs, bribes and handouts willingly.  We have to decide to unite on Constitutional principles and forget about areas of disagreement.

Here is what we must do to begin to build the infrastructure to take back our country.  We have to put our focus completely into the primaries.  Some states in America have open primaries so it does not matter which party you are affiliated with, but the majority of states limit primary voting to people registered for a particular party.  In these states, regardless of what party you believe in with your heart and belong to, you need to register as a Republican.  You can throw your voter card out later, but we need to get constitutionally principled candidates on the final ballots.

The Republican National Committee and state Republican Party leadership must stay out of the process until after the primaries unless they provide equal monies to all persons running for a Republican seat.  And there are so many individuals in some races that this would be a waste of money.  Michael Steele must step down…yesterday.  We need true leadership that includes not only someone of principle and not ego, but also someone who will not make statements such as “we won’t take back the House” or “we are not ready to lead”.  Even if a leader believes this, it should never be uttered.  Could one imagine George Washington turning to his men as they crossed the Potomac and announcing, “You will suffer starvation and frostbite and many will die and we are going to get our butts kicked.  We are outnumbered and can’t possibly win.  Who wants to come?”  We need passionate leadership.

If we do not get the right candidates on the ballots with the primary system, then we must continue our unity behind a particular candidate, regardless of party affiliation.  This is where the grassroots organizations and lines of communication that we have built will come into play.  We have to be on the same page and this is very doable, as we have watched over the past few months.  Many of us never paid attention to races in other states, but now most of us know Scott Brown, Danny Tarkanian, Marco Rubio and Doug Hoffman.

We also know that the left will do whatever it takes to win and that makes for a tough adversary.  We watched intimidation at the polls in 2008; we witnessed groups like ACORN register cartoon characters, people more than once, fake names and even dead people; and we have observed fraudulent vote counts.  Democrats have conducted legislation in the dead of night and behind closed doors.  They have created an environment of opaqueness rather than transparency.

This is the proverbial David versus Goliath, with conservatives playing the role of David.  The good news is that David had something in his bag that we also have and it was not the right sized rock.  David had God on his side and so do we.  Now a bunch of Democrats just cried out that they believe in God and have Him too, but we have to face reality.  Is the current Democrat platform something that God would register to support?  Would He support abortion on demand even to the point of letting babies die outside the womb?  Would He support a free for all when it comes to marriage?  Would He back stealing money from others that work hard to give to those that will not work?  Would He support His removal from the town square?  These are all issues that the Democrats, lead by the progressives within their ranks, champion.  This was not always the case for Democrats, but there has been a change.

And so we must not lose hope because there can be no doubt that God would want America to return to the exceptionalism that He instilled in this nation from its beginnings.  We were structured as a Constitutional Republic and we need to return to that fabric that has made this nation so great.  We can only do that if we unite.  We must work together to inform and educate the public and merge our support behind the team of people we choose to represent us in Washington, D.C. in the 2010 Election.  This will give us the foundation to move forward towards the year 2012 when we can take back the White House as well and continue the hard work of dismantling the Marxist Utopian structure that has been built up around this country over the past one hundred years.  This will not be easy and it will be painful.  This is gut check time.  What are you willing to sacrifice to save this country for yourself and for future generations and on a grander scale, for the world.  America is the last bastion of freedom on Earth and a Republic if “we can keep it.”

Republican National Organizations and Committees Are On Notice

I am sick to death of receiving these idiotic surveys in the mail that are just “cloaked” attempts to beg for money.  I do not like receiving money requests from charities in the mail either.  If I am going to give money to a group, I will do so without having to be asked.  I have received surveys from all types of GOP organizations and conservative think tanks like Heritage Foundation.  They are idiotic in my perception because they know damn well what conservative values conservatives have without needing to ask.  They know what issues I want them to focus on.  Why else have I been standing in the streets and calling on the phones?  Are none of them listening either?

I answered the first survey I received diligently.  Subsequent surveys left me feeling disillusioned and so I turned to writing my own comments all over the surveys.  These surveys are always accompanied by a letter from some Republican leader.  The most recent one I received, blew my top because it was from Newt Gingrich.  Newt Gingrich?!  He thinks and the Republican Senate Committee thinks I will send money on his account?!  I scrawled across the back that we are refounding and restoring the GOP and if they expected me to answer their survey and, more importantly, send them money, then they should not send letters from a fraud like Newt Gingrich who believes in Party before principles.

And that is what is going on with the Tea Party Movement.  I have had one of my blogs linked to by both Politico and Alan Colmes, in which I claim that our movement is grassroots and non-partisan.  They are trying to claim that we are not since we have focused on the GOP.  I do not see how we are supporting the GOP and being partisan when we are trying to take the GOP over or at least take it back.  We live in a country that supports a two-party system; unfortunately, and we are trying to work within those parameters.  But we are not above backing third party candidates either, when we have to, as the nation observed in NY23.

The GOP and all affiliates are on notice.  You either get on board the Tea Party Train or we will leave you in our steam.
