A Plan For Conservatives In 2010

Divided we fall, united we stand.  That is going to be the theme for the 2010 elections.  Conservatives face a unified and strong front on the left.  After the losses we suffered in 2008, particularly the presidency, we have learned that we must move forward differently in the future and learn to use the tools that the left beat us with.  Those tools include the Internet through blogs, social networking via Facebook and Twitter and other sites; community activism and organization; and registering people to vote and ensuring they make it to the polling place.  The left used all of these tools effectively.  The good news is that conservatives have begun to master all of these weapons and we now rule Twitter and Facebook and the Tea Party Movement has demonstrated that we can protest against the best of liberal community organizing groups.

But the question remains whether conservatives can unite in the way that is required.  There is an area of contention within the conservative ranks between backing a third party or working within the Republican Party.  Although it leaves a bad taste in the mouth, based on ineptness and a lack of principles in the past, we need to work within the two party system through the Republican Party at this time and there are many reasons why.

Number one, there are many people that just vote the party line and do not pay much attention to politics and consider themselves Republicans because their spouse is a Republican or their family of origin were Republicans.  We witnessed this in NY23 with Dede Scozzafava’s name on the ballot.

Number two, we must face reality and the truth is that there is not enough time to garner the money and support needed to support a third party.

Number three, getting behind a third party means choosing a particular third party and which one would we choose?   Conservatives are a group that has people who belong to the Constitution Party, Whig Party, Libertarian Party, Conservative Party and Tea Party.  Which one do we support when all run on similar platforms?  This only serves to split our vote and as pointed out previously, we face a united foe.  Observe the left for a moment.  They fall on all different sides of various issues whether it is abortion, the War on Terrorism, Gay Marriage, fiscal responsibility, etc.  And yet they can all unite as we have observed with the healthcare insurance reform debate and subsequent bills.  This is because they are united behind the goal of power.  Ultimately, that is complete government control.  We know this to be true because we watched “principled” people receive payoffs, bribes and handouts willingly.  We have to decide to unite on Constitutional principles and forget about areas of disagreement.

Here is what we must do to begin to build the infrastructure to take back our country.  We have to put our focus completely into the primaries.  Some states in America have open primaries so it does not matter which party you are affiliated with, but the majority of states limit primary voting to people registered for a particular party.  In these states, regardless of what party you believe in with your heart and belong to, you need to register as a Republican.  You can throw your voter card out later, but we need to get constitutionally principled candidates on the final ballots.

The Republican National Committee and state Republican Party leadership must stay out of the process until after the primaries unless they provide equal monies to all persons running for a Republican seat.  And there are so many individuals in some races that this would be a waste of money.  Michael Steele must step down…yesterday.  We need true leadership that includes not only someone of principle and not ego, but also someone who will not make statements such as “we won’t take back the House” or “we are not ready to lead”.  Even if a leader believes this, it should never be uttered.  Could one imagine George Washington turning to his men as they crossed the Potomac and announcing, “You will suffer starvation and frostbite and many will die and we are going to get our butts kicked.  We are outnumbered and can’t possibly win.  Who wants to come?”  We need passionate leadership.

If we do not get the right candidates on the ballots with the primary system, then we must continue our unity behind a particular candidate, regardless of party affiliation.  This is where the grassroots organizations and lines of communication that we have built will come into play.  We have to be on the same page and this is very doable, as we have watched over the past few months.  Many of us never paid attention to races in other states, but now most of us know Scott Brown, Danny Tarkanian, Marco Rubio and Doug Hoffman.

We also know that the left will do whatever it takes to win and that makes for a tough adversary.  We watched intimidation at the polls in 2008; we witnessed groups like ACORN register cartoon characters, people more than once, fake names and even dead people; and we have observed fraudulent vote counts.  Democrats have conducted legislation in the dead of night and behind closed doors.  They have created an environment of opaqueness rather than transparency.

This is the proverbial David versus Goliath, with conservatives playing the role of David.  The good news is that David had something in his bag that we also have and it was not the right sized rock.  David had God on his side and so do we.  Now a bunch of Democrats just cried out that they believe in God and have Him too, but we have to face reality.  Is the current Democrat platform something that God would register to support?  Would He support abortion on demand even to the point of letting babies die outside the womb?  Would He support a free for all when it comes to marriage?  Would He back stealing money from others that work hard to give to those that will not work?  Would He support His removal from the town square?  These are all issues that the Democrats, lead by the progressives within their ranks, champion.  This was not always the case for Democrats, but there has been a change.

And so we must not lose hope because there can be no doubt that God would want America to return to the exceptionalism that He instilled in this nation from its beginnings.  We were structured as a Constitutional Republic and we need to return to that fabric that has made this nation so great.  We can only do that if we unite.  We must work together to inform and educate the public and merge our support behind the team of people we choose to represent us in Washington, D.C. in the 2010 Election.  This will give us the foundation to move forward towards the year 2012 when we can take back the White House as well and continue the hard work of dismantling the Marxist Utopian structure that has been built up around this country over the past one hundred years.  This will not be easy and it will be painful.  This is gut check time.  What are you willing to sacrifice to save this country for yourself and for future generations and on a grander scale, for the world.  America is the last bastion of freedom on Earth and a Republic if “we can keep it.”

Good Riddance Arlen Sphincter

Senator Arlen Specter announced today that he is switching parties from Republican to Democrat particularly for his run for re-election in 2010.  This came as no surprise to conservatives who already considered Senator Arlen Specter to be a Democrat anyway.  What was surprising was Sphincter’s referral to himself as a moderate Republican who felt pushed out of the party by its move to the right.  As a conservative, I actually believe that the Republican party may have moved further to the right, but that only puts it in the middle from the left lean it had taken.  That means that Sphincter was and is actually a liberal.

The truth behind this move is that Sen. Sphincter knew he could not win in the primary in 2010.  The Republicans who have voted him in far too many times have finally reached their limit.  This certainly is a gift for Obama to mark his 100th day.  Now he has a philibuster-proof Senate even without Al Frankenstein.  Sphincter claimed that he is not a guaranteed vote for the Democrats, but I really doubt that.

This truly shines light on a man who is without principles and values.  He’ll fit right in with the liberal Democrats.

Obama’s Next Mis-step Is Housing Plan

President Obama revealed plans for his housing bailout for homeowners yesterday.  There are so many holes in this plan that it would not hold water.  While giving his resounding oratory, he actually used the word “crisis” twenty-four times.  Someone get this man a thesaurus and me a survival kit because the world is ending.  Originally the plan was to give $50 billion towards Americans on the brink of foreclosure, but the president upped the ante to $75 billion.  The goal is to prevent 9 million homeowners from being evicted and to stabilize the crippled housing market.  Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac are also going to get an additional $400 billion.  Aren’t they two of the culprits in causing this fiasco?  The stock market is so giddy that it dropped nearly 300 points Tuesday and went up 3 points yesterday.

Where’s my money I wonder.  I’ve been responsible.  I’ve rented my entire life because I used to not make much money and then I was really debt heavy and now I’m saving to put 20% down.  What is in this for me other than taking my money to give to the irresponsible?  Republican leaders had alot of questions as well:

• What will your plan do for the over 90 percent of homeowners who are playing and paying by the rules?

• Does your plan compensate banks for bad mortgages they should have never made in the first place?

• Will individuals who misrepresented their income or assets on their original mortgage application be eligible to get the taxpayer funded assistance under your plan?

• Will you require mortgage servicers to verify income and other eligibility standards before modifying mortgages?

What will you do to prevent the same mortgages that receive assistance and are modified from going into default three, six or eight months later?

• How do you intend to move forward in the drafting of the legislation and who will author it?

I also would like to know what they are doing for the millions that have already lost their homes.  Is this just a matter of timing?  I actually would like to see Pelosi, Dodd, Waters, Reid and Frank cough up the dough because they have been the root of this problem.  The Democrats in whole have the blame squarely on their shoulders for the most part.  They created the environment that forced banks to make irresponsible loans.  They used poor people and trained them to just sit and wait and let others do for them.  They convinced people that owning a home is the American Dream which to me is way off.  They convinced everyone that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac were “just fine”.  They have continuously rewarded bad behavior.  And now they are going to force the responsible to pay while disenfranchising millions.  How about those left upside down in a home because of this crisis?

Disenfranchisement breeds contempt and that is what this new adminstration and Congress are breeding throughout this country.  If they keep this up, they just may have another huge crisis on their hands.  The money bubble will burst and then you are going to have an enraged and hungry people.  God help us if the Democrats continue to believe that socialism is the answer.

Wow! Thanks Government For The Extra $13 A Week!

I wonder if the extra $13 per week per paycheck that I’m told I will receive from the supposed “tax cuts” in the newest version of the European Socialist, Generational Theft, Pork Engourged Non-Stimulus Bill will offset the incredible deficit that the government has just laid on me.  Does anyone truly believe that our taxes are not going to be raised in the very near future?  We have TARP1 that has already cost us $350 billion with the other $350 billion ready to go and experts telling us (since Tim Geithner will not) that TARP2 is coming and will probably take another $2 trillion.  This new crap bill will amount to something over $1 trillion with the interest we will have to pay.  The President and Treasury Secretary have vaguely referred to some new plan for housing which I expect to be another bailout.  Bloomberg.com, as I reported earlier, expects us to be on the hook for $9.7 trillion above and beyond the current $10 trillion plus national deficit.  So the possibility of increased taxes for everyone is a foregone conclusion.

David Espo of the AP is reporting that this new bill “also includes help for victims of the recession in the form of expanded unemployment benefits, food stamps, health coverage and more, as well as billions for states that face the prospect of making deep cuts in school aid and other programs. (Read: Welfare)  Another provision will mean a one-time payment of $250 for millions of beneficiaries who receive Social Security, Supplemental Security Income and veterans pensions and disability, according to officials. They added that the measure will include $46 billion for transportation projects such as highway, bridge and mass transit construction.  The president also won money for two other administration priorities – information technology in health care, and “green jobs” to make buildings more energy-efficient and reduce the nation’s reliance on foreign oil.”

I thought one of the keys in this bill for new jobs was all this infrastructure work and yet only $46 billion is going to road projects?!  Take note, most of these created jobs are governmental – don’t believe the lie of 90% are private sector – and being created for the sole purpose of building the skeleton for the coming totalitarian regime.  If you don’t think that is coming, you haven’t read this bill.  Rep. John Boehner said, “It appears that Democrats have made a bad bill worse by reducing the tax relief for working families in order to pay for more wasteful government spending.”

This bill still needs final approval so we still need to contact those representatives especially Snowe, Collins and Specter.  I’m thinking we should send them copies of the Constitution so they know what it is they have sworn to protect.  Specter seems to think that his promises to looney lefties means more.  I personally plan to donate to the campaigns of any Republicans running against any of these three in the next election and I’m from Florida.  They won’t listen to our voices, but they will have to listen to our money and votes.  They’ve betrayed us, but most importantly they’ve betrayed the generations from the past who fought so hard for the liberty of this country and they’ve betrayed the future from whom they have taken liberty.  As for the Democrats, I’ve learned to expect this behavior.  I hope the 11 that voted the right way before in the house do so again.

Senate Reaches Compromise To Sell Out America’s Future

This is another pile of bullcrap.  The Gang of Four as I will call them – Susan Collins, Arlen Specter, Ben Nelson and Joe Lieberman – have crafted a “compromised” bill that they claim they can get 60 votes on.  Who are they fooling?  This is the same crap they tried to feed us before.  They thought they could balloon it to almost one trillion and then cut it back and have Americans support them.  I’ve been listening to the outrageous statements from the Gang of Four and here are some excerpts:

Ben Nelson was up first and he claimed that they have “saved the American people $110 billion dollars”.  Can you believe that?!  Saved us money!?  Well, thanks so much you blowhard!  He pointed out that the bill is now at $780 billion.  I feel so much better.  He also pointed out that there are $300 million in tax cuts.  What, I should be happy?  $300 million out of $780 billion?!  Can you tell I’m losing it here?

Next up is Susan Collins, a RINO.  She claims they are going to help hard working Americans after throwing out the 600,000 lost jobs number which all four speakers use.  My comment is if these are hard working Americans they don’t want the governments help.  Collins outlines some of the spending as $6 billion for special education and $14 billion in Pell Grants.  How do those stimulate the economy?

Arlen Specter gets up and claims there are parts of the compromise that still give him “heartburn”.  He says that there are items that really should be part of regular appropriations.  Then why support this pork-engourged non-stimulus bill?  He claims they are in there because the committee had seen fit to include them.  He claims that over-used lie that this gives tax cuts to 95% of Americans.  He also points out some spending like $1.4 billion for childcare, $1 billion for Head Start  and he said $13 billion for special education.  How does this stimulate?

Then Joe Lieberman got up and as he spoke I reached for the duct tape to hold my head together.  He called this process “unifying”.  He said that help won’t come from the private sector  and so the only place this help can come from “is the federal government”.  He said that tonight they were going to show the American people that “the US government passes the test”.  He went on to say that soon they would take on healthcare reform and climate change.  I think he must be trying to redeem his bad name with the Democrats.  What would his friend John McCain say?

Actually, I was very proud when Senator McCain got up to speak and reminded everyone that this is not really bi-partisan.  Only two Republicans have crossed over – I’m not sure where Olympia Snowe is in this thing, I thought she supported it.  He also took the veil off this bullcrap that the Gang of Four had placed there and reminded everyone that there are amendments that the Senate had already agreed to and when they are added to this compromise, the price tag is now $827 billion which if $7 billion over the bill the House passed on to them.  Sentor McCain said that if this passes it will be a “very bad day for America”.

Senator John Thune revealed that many of the targeted amendments that the Republicans put forward were defeated.  He reminded the Senate that they will be handing this debt to their children and grandchildren.

Senator Tom Coburn told those struggling out there that once they get a job they are on the hook for $12,000 and for those currently working they are already on the hook for $12,000.  “Federal workers don’t create wealth,” Coburn said.  He called it a “generational theft bill” and reminded everyone that they haven’t even fixed the housing problem.

Senator Linsey Graham pointed out that the Democrats lost 11 people in the House and more importantly, as the American people found out more about the bill, they lost the people’s support as well.

Continue to call the Senators over the weekend and tell them we still do not want their bullcrap.

Democrats And The President Live It Up At Kingsmill Retreats

I could have sworn that the president was decrying Wall Street fat cats for their big spending and executive bonuses while receiving money from the American people in bailouts.  I must have been mistaken because surely at a time in this country that we have not “seen since the Great Depression” and with the country in the middle of a recession that we may “never recover from”, the government would not go to some lavish spa on taxpayer dime?!  But that is just what they are doing.  They were wining and dining and congratulating themselves last night in Williamsburg at Kingsmill Retreats.  You see everything is permissible for government.

Gateway Pundit live blogged the speech that President Obama gave last night and here are some of the excerpts:

“He just congratulated the liberal House for creating and passing the most massive spending bill in American history filled from top to bottom with pork for every Left Wing organization that helped get them get elected.

Obama just said the scale and scope of the bill is just right.
He also just excused the pork in the bill.
Obama says the point of a stimulus bill is ‘to spend.’
That’s what a stimulus bill is supposed to do- spend.”

Obama called Nancy Pelosi a “rock” – gag me!  He reminded the Democrats that the people are watching and that we did not send them there to get bogged down.  What!?  I sure the hell did not send them there.  Why do they need an expensive retreat to get the stimulus passed?  To demonstrate how well they can irresponsibly spend money?  And of course, he claims there is not one earmark in this bohemoth.  What a liar!

Sure glad they are living it up while I work to actually pay my taxes.

President Obama Attempts To Build His Philibuster-Proof Senate

If anyone believes the nomination of Republican Senator Judd Gregg to the position of Commerce Secretary is anything other than an attempt by President Obama to create a philibuster-proof Senate, they’re drinking the Kool-Aid.  Of course, the media is praising Obama for building a bi-partisan cabinet, but when it comes to the president it is all smoke and mirrors.  Senator Gregg hails from New Hampshire where a Democrat sits in the Governor’s house and thus it is expected that the Governor will appoint a Democrat to fill Gregg’s seat.  If Al Frankenstein wins in the court battle for the Minnesota Senate seat there will be 60 Democrats in the Senate making it philibuster-proof for the Republicans.  Then the Dictator’s plans will have no backstop.  No philibuster in Senate and Nancy Pelosi has made rules in the House preventing the Republicans from having any power.  The Democrats will rule and I hope that this will wake up the sheeple after they see the road the Dems will take America down and start throwing the Dems out of office.

Senator Gregg was described by the AP as a fiscal conservative which might lead people to believe that he is a good choice for Commerce Secretary.  I have just one word to say in regards to that – TARP.  Gregg helped devise the TARP bailout which is anything but fiscally conservative.  Senator Gregg will probably accept the position because our representatives do not care much about the country anymore.  He will not think about a philibuster-proof Senate, he will think about the chance of losing his seat in two years so why not go for a sure thing like a four year cabinet seat that could become an eight year term if President Obama is re-elected.

I hope Senator Gregg will not accept the position if he is indeed the President’s pick, but I’m not holding out much hope.  In some ways it would be good for the Dems to have full control so nothing could be blamed on the Republicans, but somehow I know it will get twisted around and be Bush’s fault or Rush’s fault or whatever.  After all, the gays and blacks still believe the Democrats are on their side when they actually never have been.
