Census Does Not Transcend Race

One would think that with a half black President and decades of civil rights laws, that America would finally be in a place where race is transcended.  Who can forget President Obama’s lecture on race during the presidential campaign of 2008?  And yet the idea that racism is still pervasive in this country is continually trumpeted.  Tea Partiers are accused of being racist for protesting the government simply because the President is black.  Any suggestion of profiling is deemed racist even though it would make society safer.  Calls for reparations continue to be heard.  And now the 2010 Census form has arrived at most homes and indeed, race is a major component of the questions.

First of all, the Census informs us that question 8, which is about Hispanic origin, has nothing to do with race.  What?  Not only is that preposterous, but why is this question separated from question 9 that is a general race question?  What difference does it make if someone is of Cuban or Puerto Rican descent?  Criminal invaders are terrified to answer the Census because they fear they will be picked up.  (That is laughable.)  This question should leave them quaking in their boots.  Perhaps the Census should have just asked if the individual was in America legally.  And why are we counting these people anyway?  So we can allow them to steal more of our services?

Question 9 is just as ridiculous.  Why does the Census have to know someone’s race?  And how do most of us American mutts answer that?  Many Americans have a mixed heritage.  It would serve the government better to have asked if you were a citizen.  Perhaps even a natural born citizen – if only the government could figure out what that means exactly.  I plan on marking Question 9 as “other” and writing in American.  I am sick to death of the hyphens and seperation in this society.  Obviously, the 2010 Census is racist.

The question is, “Why does the government need this information?”  My answer to that question should have the various races outraged because it is obvious.  Part of the reason we are told that we need to answer all the questions is for funding.  The government wants to make sure everybody gets their fair share.  I believe the government is racist and will assume that minorities have a lower income threshold and thus will need more government service in their area.  That is the only explanation that I can come up with.

There was a time in our history when the race questions on the Census were used for a nefarious purpose.  During World War II, Japanese-Americans were rounded up and put in internment camps – a very dark time in our history.  Census information was used to help facilitate the round up.  So the suggestion that this Census information will be locked up for 72 years and not used for any other purpose is a farce.

I will answer my Census truthfully and fairly completely.  My telephone number is none of their business as well as most of the question, so I will answer them in a truthful way, but not exact.  They don’t need my birthdate, but I will write in “adult”.  So I suppose the Census Bureau will come visiting and they will be able to ascertain that I am “white” and scribble that down.

Scott Brown Lied

The thunderous applause for the election of Scott Brown to the Senate seat held by Teddy Kennedy for four decades is coming to an abrupt halt.  Conservatives like myself, applauded the election despite the fact that Brown is moderate on social issues because he presented himself during the campaign as a fiscal conservative.  Apparently, he was lying.  Just another typical politician making good on the only thing politicians are really good at: lying.

Yesterday, the Republicans were filibustering Porkulus II, otherwise known as the Jobs Bill.  But at the end of the day, four GOP Senators helped advance the measure to a final vote tomorrow on a 62-30 vote.  The typical RINOs, Olympia Snowe, Susan Collins and George Voinivich, were three of the votes.  The fourth belonged to Scott Brown.  My how quickly the leopard changes his spots.  What is fisically responsible about a bill that at best would create 250,000 jobs?  The tax breaks in this bill are laughable and not enough to get uncertain small businesses to start hiring.  Many of the jobs are for temporary highway projects.  I am pretty sure that is what Porkulus 1 was all about.  Even Democrat Ben Nelson voted against the measure.

Scott Brown defended himself by commenting, “I came to Washington to be an independent voice, to put politics aside and to do everything in my power to help create jobs for Massachusetts families.  This Senate jobs bill is not perfect … but I voted for it because it contains measures that will help put people back to work.”  Yeah, good one Scott.  You keep up with that bi-partisanship that recklessly increases big government.

Obama’s Disingenuous Bi-Partisanship

On Friday, President Obama met with members of the House GOP at their annual three-day retreat in Maryland.  He made some opening remarks and then proceeded to conduct a question and answer session.  Mainstream Media and members of the left described the President’s “performance” as a return to his former campaign self and the three Stooges at MSNBC (Rachel Madcow as Larry, Racist Chris Matthews as Curly and Keith Olberdork as Moe) aired a special, dedicated to their analysis of the President’s appearance in Maryland where they basically declared Obama the winner and described how the President mopped the floor with the GOP – even without his trusty teleprompter.

I witnessed something quite different.  The President is not moving to the center and deciding that he would like to work in a bi-partisan way.  The State of the Union Address revealed that the President plans to move forward full steam ahead.  This meeting with the GOP backs that up as well.  The President was obtuse, answering questions in long rhetorical soundbites that left most wondering what the original question had been.  The President was defensive on many issues and stuttered and stammered to get his footing.

Obama claimed that he is open to GOP ideas.  He has said the same thing all year-long, even as he completely ignored GOP suggestions and he and his administration, along with the Democrats, have claimed time and time again that the Republicans are obstructionist and the party of “no” and have no ideas to offer.  A member of the GOP should have asked the President how the GOP managed to obstruct anything when they do not have enough votes to accomplish that – the Democrats obstructed the Democrats.  Mike Pence pointed this ignoring of GOP ideas out in this exchange with the President:

REP MIKE PENCE (R-IND.): Mr. President, a point of clarification.

What’s in the “Better Solutions” book are all the legislative proposals that were offered . . .

OBAMA: Oh, I understand. I’ve actually read your bills.

PENCE: . . . throughout 2009.

OBAMA: I understand.

PENCE: And so rest assured the summary document that you received is backed up by precisely the kind of detailed legislation that Speaker Pelosi and your administration have been busy ignoring for 12 months.

OBAMA: Well, Mike, hold on, hold on a second.

(APPLAUSE)

No, no, no, no, no. Hold on a second guys.  You know, Mike, I’ve read your legislation. I mean, I take a look at this stuff. And the good ideas we take.

But here — here’s the thing, here’s the thing, I guess, that all of us have to be mindful of. It can’t be all-or-nothing one way or the other, all right?  There’s eloquence for you.  “No, no, no, no, hold on guys…here–here’s the thing, here’s the thing.  As I said, he stuttered and stammered his way through this thing because he knows he is wrong and lying.  Confidence does not need to be defensive.

You — you — and what I mean by that is this. If we put together a stimulus package in which a third of it are tax cuts that normally you guys would support, and support for states and the unemployed and helping people stay on COBRA that your governors certainly would support, Democrat or Republican. And then you’ve got some infrastructure, and maybe there’s some things in there that you don’t like in terms of infrastructure, or you think the bill should have been $500 billion instead of $700 billion, or there’s this provision or that provision that you don’t like. In other words, Mike and the rest of you boneheads obstructing me, even if a bill is total garbage and full of waste, one bright shining light should get you on board to vote for this stuff.  The Porkulus Bill got its nickname for a reason: it was full of pork!  And has been proven an utter failure full of fraud.

If there’s uniform opposition because the Republican caucus doesn’t get 100 percent or 80 percent of what you want, then it’s going to be hard to get a deal done. That’s because that’s not how democracy works. The President of the United States does not know that he is the head of a Representative Republic.  He thinks this is a Democracy.

Something that many analysts did not pick up in the opening statements of the President set off some Marxist/Dictator warning bells.  We already had Obama call out the Supreme Court and attempt to embarrass them at the SOTU and he informed them that he was encouraging Congress to overturn their ruling to uphold the First Amendment with legislation.  The President later informed Congress that he would be issuing an Executive Order to set up the spending committee that would take over the Congressional power of deciding where spending should be allocated and cut.  So we have President getting Congress to take SCOTUS’ power and then the President taking Congress’ power leaving one person holding the bag.  And this brings me to this statement from Friday:

I’m ready and eager to work with anyone who is willing to proceed in the spirit of goodwill. But understand, if we can’t break free from partisan gridlock, if we can’t move past the politics of no, if resistance supplants constructive debate, I still have to meet my responsibilities as president. I’ve got to act for the greater good, because that, too, is a commitment that I have made. And that, too, is what the American people sent me to Washington to do.

The President just informed the nation that he is going to act for the greater good, which we know means his interpretation of good, even if he has to act without Congress.  We know that Congress will be in gridlock now with the election of Scott Brown and the GOP is aware that they cannot move forward any big government ideas without suffering the wrath of We The People.

Since the Massachusetts wake-up call, Obama’s only concession has been to issue a spending freeze in his 2011 budget.  This concession is not only temporary, but freezes spending at an exorbitant rate while not doing anything to reform entitlement programs like MediCare, MediCaid and Social Security, which are bankrupting the country.  And the next concession that the President will toss out to the little people is moving the 9/11 trials out of Manhatten.  This brings little solace to an American public outraged that non-citizens who took part in slaughtering 3,000 of our fellows were given Constitutional rights.  And the idea that this “circus” trial, that will give voice to these Jihadi terrorists to spill forth their bilge, is just going to be moved to another American city instead of back to GITMO insults our intelligence.

The President is putting on airs of being a willing participant in bi-partisanship, but the actions will prove that this is just another lie.  And so we will have to remind him again in November 2010 that We The People are the government.

Erroll Southers In Line With DHS Report

Several months ago the Department of Homeland Security, under the direction of Janet Napalitano, released a report that accused tea party attendees, veterans, anti-government and anti-tax types of being dangerous right-wing extremist domestic terrorists.  Now the President has nominated a man to the top of the Transportation Security Administration that seems to agree with Napalitano and the rest of her ilk.  Erroll Southers has a past that is distasteful in which he used FBI resources illegally for personal use.  And now he has made a claim that is outrageous.

In a 2008 video interview with the Videojug.com website, Errol Southers was asked, “Which home-grown terrorist groups pose the greatest danger to the U.S.?”

Southers answered: “Most of the domestic groups that we have to pay attention to here are white supremacist groups. They’re anti-government and in most cases anti-abortion. They are usually survivalist-type in nature, identity orientated. If you recall, Buford Furrow came to Los Angeles in, I believe, it was 1999. When he went to three different Jewish institutions, museums, and then wound up shooting people at a children’s community center, then shooting a Filipino postal worker later on.  Matthew Hale, who’s the Pontifex Maximus of the World Church of the Creator out of Illinois, and Ben Smith, who went on a shooting spree in three different cities where he killed a number of African Americans and Jews and Asians that day.  Those groups are groups that claim to be extremely anti-government and Christian-identity oriented.”

So Southers is claiming that this group he described is a Christian group.  And he wanted to stress the anti-government part as well, but I am sure that it was not a swipe to members of the Tea Party Movement.  The fact is, that this group that these men belong to – World Church of the Creator – is an atheistic organization and is anti-Christian.  These claims are made on the “church’s” website.  The Anti-Defamation League describes the group as non-believers in eternal life and God.  The group changed its name to The Creativity Movement recently.

Southers also claimed that “we will never win” a war on terrorism in the permanent sense, but we can focus on trying to “contain” terrorism.  This is really the person we want in charge of our airline safety.  Southers should fit in just fine with the rest of the Obama administration that is in denial about the War on Terrorism.

A Plan For Conservatives In 2010

Divided we fall, united we stand.  That is going to be the theme for the 2010 elections.  Conservatives face a unified and strong front on the left.  After the losses we suffered in 2008, particularly the presidency, we have learned that we must move forward differently in the future and learn to use the tools that the left beat us with.  Those tools include the Internet through blogs, social networking via Facebook and Twitter and other sites; community activism and organization; and registering people to vote and ensuring they make it to the polling place.  The left used all of these tools effectively.  The good news is that conservatives have begun to master all of these weapons and we now rule Twitter and Facebook and the Tea Party Movement has demonstrated that we can protest against the best of liberal community organizing groups.

But the question remains whether conservatives can unite in the way that is required.  There is an area of contention within the conservative ranks between backing a third party or working within the Republican Party.  Although it leaves a bad taste in the mouth, based on ineptness and a lack of principles in the past, we need to work within the two party system through the Republican Party at this time and there are many reasons why.

Number one, there are many people that just vote the party line and do not pay much attention to politics and consider themselves Republicans because their spouse is a Republican or their family of origin were Republicans.  We witnessed this in NY23 with Dede Scozzafava’s name on the ballot.

Number two, we must face reality and the truth is that there is not enough time to garner the money and support needed to support a third party.

Number three, getting behind a third party means choosing a particular third party and which one would we choose?   Conservatives are a group that has people who belong to the Constitution Party, Whig Party, Libertarian Party, Conservative Party and Tea Party.  Which one do we support when all run on similar platforms?  This only serves to split our vote and as pointed out previously, we face a united foe.  Observe the left for a moment.  They fall on all different sides of various issues whether it is abortion, the War on Terrorism, Gay Marriage, fiscal responsibility, etc.  And yet they can all unite as we have observed with the healthcare insurance reform debate and subsequent bills.  This is because they are united behind the goal of power.  Ultimately, that is complete government control.  We know this to be true because we watched “principled” people receive payoffs, bribes and handouts willingly.  We have to decide to unite on Constitutional principles and forget about areas of disagreement.

Here is what we must do to begin to build the infrastructure to take back our country.  We have to put our focus completely into the primaries.  Some states in America have open primaries so it does not matter which party you are affiliated with, but the majority of states limit primary voting to people registered for a particular party.  In these states, regardless of what party you believe in with your heart and belong to, you need to register as a Republican.  You can throw your voter card out later, but we need to get constitutionally principled candidates on the final ballots.

The Republican National Committee and state Republican Party leadership must stay out of the process until after the primaries unless they provide equal monies to all persons running for a Republican seat.  And there are so many individuals in some races that this would be a waste of money.  Michael Steele must step down…yesterday.  We need true leadership that includes not only someone of principle and not ego, but also someone who will not make statements such as “we won’t take back the House” or “we are not ready to lead”.  Even if a leader believes this, it should never be uttered.  Could one imagine George Washington turning to his men as they crossed the Potomac and announcing, “You will suffer starvation and frostbite and many will die and we are going to get our butts kicked.  We are outnumbered and can’t possibly win.  Who wants to come?”  We need passionate leadership.

If we do not get the right candidates on the ballots with the primary system, then we must continue our unity behind a particular candidate, regardless of party affiliation.  This is where the grassroots organizations and lines of communication that we have built will come into play.  We have to be on the same page and this is very doable, as we have watched over the past few months.  Many of us never paid attention to races in other states, but now most of us know Scott Brown, Danny Tarkanian, Marco Rubio and Doug Hoffman.

We also know that the left will do whatever it takes to win and that makes for a tough adversary.  We watched intimidation at the polls in 2008; we witnessed groups like ACORN register cartoon characters, people more than once, fake names and even dead people; and we have observed fraudulent vote counts.  Democrats have conducted legislation in the dead of night and behind closed doors.  They have created an environment of opaqueness rather than transparency.

This is the proverbial David versus Goliath, with conservatives playing the role of David.  The good news is that David had something in his bag that we also have and it was not the right sized rock.  David had God on his side and so do we.  Now a bunch of Democrats just cried out that they believe in God and have Him too, but we have to face reality.  Is the current Democrat platform something that God would register to support?  Would He support abortion on demand even to the point of letting babies die outside the womb?  Would He support a free for all when it comes to marriage?  Would He back stealing money from others that work hard to give to those that will not work?  Would He support His removal from the town square?  These are all issues that the Democrats, lead by the progressives within their ranks, champion.  This was not always the case for Democrats, but there has been a change.

And so we must not lose hope because there can be no doubt that God would want America to return to the exceptionalism that He instilled in this nation from its beginnings.  We were structured as a Constitutional Republic and we need to return to that fabric that has made this nation so great.  We can only do that if we unite.  We must work together to inform and educate the public and merge our support behind the team of people we choose to represent us in Washington, D.C. in the 2010 Election.  This will give us the foundation to move forward towards the year 2012 when we can take back the White House as well and continue the hard work of dismantling the Marxist Utopian structure that has been built up around this country over the past one hundred years.  This will not be easy and it will be painful.  This is gut check time.  What are you willing to sacrifice to save this country for yourself and for future generations and on a grander scale, for the world.  America is the last bastion of freedom on Earth and a Republic if “we can keep it.”

My Predictions For The Year 2010

Last year I intermingled my irreverent and parodic based predictions with the real ones, but this year I will seperate the two.  First will be the serious predictions and then we’ll have the comic relief because we are going to need it.  Please feel free to add your own in the comments and join me on the radio if you would like to share them.  Tuesday January 5th at 6pm ET I will be discussing these on The Freedom’s Wings Show.

1.  Unemployment will see no real improvement.  Juan Williams of National Public Radio believes that unemployment will recover to 8%.  I hardly think so.  I see the unemployment rate going up once again to a peak of 10.6% and then just leveling off.  At best, the rate may drop to 10%, but that is not enough to benefit the Democrats in the 2010 election.

2.  The word for the economy of 2010 will be static.  I think the stock market will continue the up and down gyrations.  Housing will continue to remain where it was for the latter part of 2009, which will see more foreclosures and few new home buyers.  Home values I think will fall a bit as well, but nothing drastic.  There will not be a Depression.

3.  Something will change in the economy towards the end of the year and I believe that will be Ben Bernanke raising interest rates as inflation rears its head.  This will result in Stagflation because interest rates will be up and unemployment will still be high.

4.  The personal economies of the states will be the ones that will suffer.  Several states will face bankruptcy and collapse and will have to turn to the federal government for loans giving the government unprecedented control over the states and a breakdown of the 10th Amendment that so many states are re-establishing.  These states include: California, New York, Florida, Michigan, Rhode Island, New Jersey, Wisconsin, Arizona, Nevada and Oregon.

5.  Porkulus Bill 2 will appear sometime before summer.  This will also be sold as a recovery bill and I expect it will contain the term “jobs” somewhere in the title because the government continues to think that throwing federal money at the problem will solve it.

6.  Debt ceiling will be reached again before summer and, yet again, the Congress will vote to raise it to the level of $13 trillion.

7.  Without a doubt, everyone’s taxes will go up and Obama will explain that it is a necessity.

8.  There will be a shake up in the Obama administration at the very top – yes, that would be between VP Joe Biden and the President.  I foresee a big disagreement that finally pushes Biden over the edge and he steps down.  Michelle Obama would like to replace him, but I see Bill Richardson being chosen.

9.  In the 2010 elections, the House will lose 40 seats and the Senate will lose the supermajority and change to 51 Republicans and 40 Democrats.  Chris Dodd, Harry Reid and Barbara Boxer will be out.  Republican governors will win big as well and even local elections will see an influx of third party candidates winning for state representation.

10.  ObamaCare will pass, but it will be a skeleton of itself and the public will realize it is a tax and spend bill and nothing more.  The only true reform will come in the way of digitizing records.  Otherwise, the federal abortion funding will be out, the public option will be out and the inability to repeal the bill will be out.  The unconstitutional individual mandate will remain as well as the pay off earmarks, which will have increased to get liberal Democrats in the House on board.

11. Card Check will pass with the help of increased pressure from all of the unions.  This will be the pay off to the unions for backing ObamaCare that will raise taxes on union health insurance.

12.  ClimateGate will spread as more scientists are revealed to be providing fraudulent data.  Big name universities will be named.  At this time, the mainstream media will be forced to cover the story and Crap & Tax will die in the Senate.  Global cooling continues.

13.  The big push to buy gold will suffer a scandal as counterfeit gold is discovered to have been sold to a large number of people.  The value of gold will raise steadily though as the dollar continues to tank because the Treasury will be unable to stop printing money hand over fist.

14. The Tea Party Movement will continue to gain prominence as it organizes and will generate a huge shift in politics in America.  Tax Day Tea Party 2010 will have twice the numbers across the country as last year, meaning some two million people will attend events.  Glenn Beck’s gathering in August will host 2.5 million people.

15. Kim Jong-il will die this year.

16.  Pope Benedict will suffer a major health crisis.

17.  A major earthquake will hit the west coast as the Ring of Fire’s activity picks up.  I expect to see at least one, if not two, new volcanos to become active this year as well.  The earth will be suffering birth pains.

18. Amnesty is going to pass, but not in the form that the left would like.  I believe this bill will be bi-partisan (due to McCain and Grahamnesty) because it is watered down.  This will not be blanket citizenship and will require criminal invaders to pay fines, back taxes and register to vote.  They will not have to return to Mexico and then come back.

19.  Israel drop bombs on Iranian nuclear sites.  Iran will retaliate with missiles and do damage to Israel, but the Iranian regime will not have support from other Arab states and Russia and China will remain behind the scenes and not helpful.  I do not think World War III will erupt at this time because…

20.  The Iranian regime will fall.  The attack by Israel will embolden the revolutionaries to overthrow their regime and it will be replaced with a Democratic government.

21.  A large-scale terrorist attack will take place in America.  Several hundred people will be killed and wounded.  Barack Obama will follow this up with a strongly worded speech.

22.  Jay Leno will leave Prime Time in this utterly failed experiment.

23.  Wars in Afghanistan and Iraq will remain much the same even with the surge.  Yemen and Pakistan will continue to be hit with drone bombs.

Okay, so I know that makes for a pretty bleak 2010, but keep in mind that we usually end up having several feel good stories that make big news as well but they result from unbelievable circumstances so I cannot even begin to guess what these events will be.  Now it is to the fun stuff.  These are just comical predictions.

1.  Tiger Woods makes a rebound and adds a sponsor for a change: Hooters.  He legally changes his name to better facilitate his return to prominence to Lion Gigalo – rather that should by lyin’.

2.  Balloon boy is replaced by Hamster Ball Boy as a child gets trapped in his inventor dad’s experimental new exerciser and rolls across a major American city, weaving dangerously through traffic unable to stop.

3.  PlastiGirl’s face breaks.  The repairs leave poor PlastiGirl with a permanent “Joe Wilson said what?” look.

4.  Tom Cruise will die in a Scientology brain meld accident.  Katie Holmes cries, “Freedom!”

5.  Furlough Fridays spread across the nation as cities face cutbacks and soon branch out into Take Off Thursdays.

6.  Barack Obama bows to Castro.

7.  Mouse of Senate (Reid) loses his re-election bid and becomes horribly deformed in a mousetrap accident.

8.  Northern New York state secedes from the bottom half of New York and New York City in particular to escape the tax code.

9.  It is revealed that Rachel Madcow is really a man, but posed as a woman because she/he thought she/he could go farther in the media that way.

10.  Barack Obama receives the award for “Most Eloquent Teleprompter Reader, Biggest Equivocator Of The Year.”  Obama carries it with him everywhere he goes thinking that it is a positive development, while TOTUS goes on strike for getting no recognition.

Freedom’s Wings 2009 Year In Review

First black president inaugurated.  Remember these empty words from the speech: “On this day, we come to proclaim an end to the petty grievances and false promises, the recriminations and worn out dogmas, that for far too long have strangled our politics.”  He promised to “begin again the work of remaking America.”  My how he has begun that by remaking us into his community organized Marxist utopia.  And the lies continued with, “And those of us who manage the public’s dollars will be held to account – to spend wisely, reform bad habits and do our business in the light of day – because only then can we restore the vital trust between a people and their government.”

The President goes on to spend more in his first year than all other presidents combined.

Auto bailouts.  General Motors (GM) becomes Government Motors as the government becomes the majority shareholder.  President Obama, in an unprecedented move, fires the CEO of GM.

Insurance giant AIG almost goes under, but the government comes to the rescue again and provides a large bailout.  AIG subsequently passes out large bonuses to executives and parties big time on our dime.  “Outraged citizens” are bused around by ACORN to the different executives homes in staged demonstrations.

Obama spent the year circling the globe, apologizing for America everywhere he went.  Who can forget the Cairo Speech, UN speech, bows to Saudi King, Japanese Emperor and Chinese Premier and handshake with Hugo Chavez?

The President moves the Census from the Department of Commerce to the White House and attempts to have ACORN run it.

Obama does away with enhanced interrogation techniques and orders that only the Army Field Manual will be employed leading to…

No more “War on Terror”.  It is now dubbed the Overseas Contingency Operation and terrorists become enemy combatants and then just criminals.  Terrorists acts become “man-made disasters .”  In that vein, the decision is made by Attorney General Holder to try the 9/11 terrorists in New York City.  Obama begins to realize his dream of closing GITMO by releasing Jihadists to Bermuda and having the government buy a prison in Illinois where the detainees will be moved.

Attorney General Eric Holder also drops charges on Black Panthers who intimidated people at polling places and in a speech refers to America as a “nation of cowards.”

Maoists and Marxists are revealed to be rampant in the Obama administration.  Green Jobs Czar Van Jones steps down as well as Anita Dunn who declared Mao to be one of her heroes along with Mother Theresa.

Obama declares that he has saved the economy from the brink and the recession is over.  Economy has slight bump up, but stock market continues to yo-yo and financial bubbles loom in the future along with the collapse of the dollar.  Several countries suggest unhinging from dollar and seeking a new global currency.

The Porkulus Bill (Stimulus recovery) is passed and Obama promises to save or create 4, no wait 3.5, um make that 3 million jobs.  It has been an utter failure with rampant fraud and the few jobs created costing somewhere in the area of $200,000 each.  Record unemployment has reached levels as much as 10.2% federally with most states suffering much worse numbers.

Air Force One flying over New York City and the Statue of Liberty for a photo op, sending New Yorkers running for their lives thinking 9/11 is happening again.

Obama appointed Sonia Sotomayor as the first Hispanic to the Supreme Court.  A woman whom has made blatant racist comments and believes that policy is created from the bench.

The Beer Summit!  Who can forget the President jumping to conclusions and declaring that the Cambridge Police Force acted stupidly when arresting a friend of his, Professor Gates.  The President promptly invited his friend and Sgt. James Crowley for a photo op teachable moment at the White House and the three men drank beer around a table while accomplishing nothing.

Two omnibus spending bills full of pork and earmarks passed by Congress and signed by the President.  One has 9,00- earmarks and the other contains 5,000.  A separate Defense Bill contains several billion more in earmarks.  What happened to no earmarks?

Approval ratings for the President go into freefall.  An upper seventy percentage rating upon Inauguration eventually deflated to a 46% approval rating.

This year’s budget deficit: $1.6 trillion

Concerned citizens dubbed “right wing extremists” in a DHS Report entitled, “Right Wing Extremism: Current Economic and Political Climate Fueling Resurgence In Radicalization and Recruitment.”

Obama drops plans for a missile defense shield in Poland.

The Obama family brings home their family dog, Bo.  An expensive, hard to find breed and not a shelter dog.

Obama announced plans for Afghanistan surge of troops.  He chooses to send 30,000 although General McChrystal requested much more and soldiers I have talked to suggest at lease 100,000 are needed and probably more.

Obama meets the Queen of England and gives her an iPod already loaded with his speeches.  He gives the Prime Minister a set of DVDs that do not work in European machines.

The Heathcare Debate!  This has gone on for the better part of the entire year with a final culmination in the House passing a bill and then the Senate passing a bill. The bills now need to merge in committee.  The House plan has a public option while the Senate version does not.  The debate over government healthcare has outraged citizens and created deep dividing lines between socialism and the free market.

The healthcare debate and outrageous spending lead to rallies across the nation dubbed as Tea Parties.  And a movement was sparked!  Concerned citizens have gathered throughout the year at rallies, counter-rallies, townhalls and tea parties to protest government intrusion, taxes, and loss of freedom.  The goal has been to get America back to her founding principles.  Large gatherings happened simultaneously nationwide on Tax Day, Independence Day and a large 9/12 March On Washington that was attended by over one million people.  The tea parties caused liberals to lose their heads, like Janeane Garofalo who called tea partiers “red neck racists” and MSNBC commentators to call tea partiers “teabaggers”, and the President to pretend to be unaware of the protests and then finally refer to the rallies as places where people were waving around tea bags.

The President promises to dismantle our nuclear stockpile while North Korea test fires missiles and Iran ramps up efforts to make nuclear bombs.  Iran has ignored all international requests to cease and desist and the President and other leaders have been left impotent.

Miracle on the Hudson!  One of the few feel good stories of the year.  Pilot Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger was able to bring down a full airliner after a flock of birds took out both engines without anyone dying and only a few injuries, using the Hudson River as a landing strip.  People will recall images of the passengers waiting on the wings of the sinking plane as ferries raced out to rescue everyone.

The Swine Flu!  The name quickly was changed to H1N1 Virus and everyone fears that a pandemic is on the horizon.  America overreacts as only a few thousand die.  Far below the number that die from the regular seasonal flu.  Not enough vaccine is made available and rationing begins legitimizing fears that government run healthcare will lead to rationing.

The Iranian Protests!  A fraudulent vote puts Iamadinnerjacket back in power and outraged Iranians take to the streets in the summer.  The protests continue to this day as Iranians make their move toward full revolution to overthrow their corrupt government.  Obama gives no support and promises that we will “bear witness”.  Gee thanks, Barry!

Somali pirates!  Pirates have long been a problem, but until this year and remained largely ignored by America.  That was until the Maersk Alabama, an American ship, was hijacked.  Captain Richard Phillips offered up himself as a hostage as his crew locked themselves below deck.  For days we watched the pirates hold the captain hostage in a dingy.  Finally, the Navy SEALS took action and killed three of the four pirates and freed Capt. Phillips.  New reports from the crew disparage the Captain’s courage and claim he was captured because he was stupid, but it still was a great day for our military.

The Ft. Hood Massacre!  On November 5th, Jihadist Nidal Malik Hasan, a US Army Major, mowed down 13 people (14 if you count the unborn baby) and wounded 30 others at Ft. Hood in Texas.  A female police officer takes him down leaving him paralyzed from the waist down.  The President takes a long time to address the nation and spends the first two minutes of his comments giving a shout out and thanking everyone at the gathering he is at for a great time and is quite jovial.  Americans are left baffled by the man boy pretending to be a leader.  Obama tells everyone not to jump to conclusions – unlike what he did with the Cambridge Police.

Bernie Madoff commits the largest Ponzi scheme in history leaving millions penniless.  He is sentenced to 150 years in prison.

Roman Polanski finally arrested for a 1970s sex charge for drugging and raping a thirteen year old girl.  He is put under house arrest.

ClimateGate!!  The global warming hoax is up.  The Climate Research Unit of the University of East Anglia in Eastern Europe is hacked and emails are released to the public that revealed an effort to cover up cooling temperatures, efforts to shut down scientists who were debunking manmade global warming and revealing an effort to coach certain members of the media in how to report on climate change.  They deliberately changed, manipulated and deleted data.  This came out before the Climate Change Summit in Copenhagen and world leaders, including Obama, completely ignore it.

Ted Kennedy dies.  Boo hoo…

Susan Boyle blows us all away with the voice of an angel and the face of a troll.  She has become a sensation and sold more records internationally then anyone else.  The video of her break out goes viral with several million hits.

Governor Mark Sanford went “hiking on the Appalachian Trail” and came back from Argentina with tales of his lurid affair with a woman.  All prospects for this conservative to have a run at the presidency vanish and his wife leaves him.  Calls for his impeachment fail, but that won’t take away his title as “Scum”.

Governor Sarah Palin quits her job as governor of Alaska.  She claims to be stepping down because of numerous lawsuits that are wasting time and money for the state.  Supporters like myself think she has made a stupid move that has killed her chances at the presidency, but her ability to raise funds has soared.  Not to mention sales of her memoir which has broken records this year.

Obama wins the Nobel Peace Prize for doing…nothing.
Tiger Woods and his Mistresspalooza.  One of the most celebrated and inspiring athletes of all time proves to be a schmuck.  The list of women he has cheated with during his brief marriage grows and grows and came to light after his wife tried to attack him with a golf club.  For now, Woods has quit golf and his wife has moved out.

Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, two entities behind the housing bubble crash are bailed out a few times and then given an unlimited line of credit…forever.

Debt ceiling raised to: $12.4 trillion

Jihadist attempts to blow up himself and a Detroit bound jet on Christmas Day.  He gets through security with a device hidden in his underwear.  He gets through also despite the fact he is on a watch list, has no baggage, pays cash and gets a one way ticket.  Not to mention he is Muslim and his father has reported his extremist ways to the US embassy.  American security has egg on its face and, thanks only to a bad detonator and a brave Dutchman, no blood on its hands.  The President waits three days to address the country about the attack and is weak.  Janet Napalitano, Secretary of Homeland Security, claims everything went well and then backtracks.  We are still waiting for her resignation.

And finally the people who died this year: Natasha Richardson, David Carradine, DJ AM, Walter Conkrite, Farrah Fawcett, Paul Harvey, Billy Mays, Les Paul, Karl Malden, Patrick Swayze, Ricardo Montalban, Ron Silver, Dom DeLuise, Director John Hughes, William Safire, Soupy Sales, Jack Kemp, Roy Disney, Bea Arthur, Dominick Dunne, Ed McMahon, Brittany Murphy and Michael Jackson.

Good riddance 2009!!!
