Harkin Wants To Cross Demarcation Between “Right” And “Privilege”

There is a strong line of demarcation in a Republic between a “right” and a “privilege”.  In Marxist countries, where the government provides everything for the citizens at the expense of those citizens’ freedom and treasure, rights and privileges are the same thing.  Leftists and Progressives in America would like to cross that line of demarcation.  Crossing that line is a step on the path to the Marxism that I just mentioned.  That is why we are witnessing a Democrat Party that is ignoring the desires of the people they represent and ignoring the very real possibility that they will lose re-election.  The push for ObamaCare has become more important to these narcissistic individuals to the point that they have put aside their all consuming self-centeredness.

Sen. Tom Harkin, D-Iowa, is just one of these individuals.  He referred to this legislation a s starter house on the way to building a mansion.  This confirms fears that these healthcare reform bills are merely building the infrastructure for something much larger: government healthcare or the single payer option.  Upon hearing the criticism of Democrats for being bought to obtain their votes Harkin admitted they are “trying to cross a demarcation line.”  He called the earmarks and payoffs “small stuff”.

Harkin appearing on the “Early Show” said, “We have to keep our eyes on what we’re trying to do here. We’re trying to cross a demarcation line.  On one side is health care as a privilege, on the other side is health care as a right. With these votes, with the vote that we’ll take before Christmas, we will cross that line finally and say that health care is a right of all Americans.  The principle of this bill overrides everything; that we’re going to increase the number of people who are covered by insurance, we’re going to increase affordable care, we’re going to crack down on abuses by insurance companies.”

I still find myself befuddled by the idea that Democrats are going to claim that they have gotten everybody covered with healthcare insurance, despite the fact that the CBO reports that millions will still be without coverage, when all they really are accomplishing is forcing all Americans to fall under an unconstitutional individual mandate requiring them to purchase insurance.

And let us be clear, health insurance is not a right.  Everyone in America receives healthcare, even when they are criminal invaders.   The lying Democrats would have us believe that people are falling down dead in the streets every ten minutes because they lack healthcare.
