Marxist Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) Chairwoman Barbara Lee lead a delegation of fellow Democrats to the country of Cuba – a place that US citizens are prohibited from visiting. She must have pulled some strings. One thing is for certain, these Democrats were very comfortable visiting this Marxist nation and hanging out with the Dictator, President Fidel Castro. These members of the CBC went to Havana to call for an end to the US prohibition on travel to Cuba.
“The fifty-year embargo just hasn’t worked,” CBC Chairwoman Barbara Lee (D-Ca.) told reporters at a press conference last night. “The bottom line is that we believe its time to open dialogue with Cuba.”
The delegation heaped praise on Castro and informed reporters that he was both receptive and warm during their visit which apparently took place in Castro’s home. Castro made a statement after the meeting that the CBC had told him that America was still a racist society which the lawmakers quickly disputed. Do you believe them? I do not and I have many soundbites from their CBC meetings where members do talk about the racism that they still live under.
With the Chris Matthew’s tingle running up her legs I imagine, Barbara Lee cooed that “it was quite a moment to behold.”
“It was almost like listening to an old friend,” said Rep. Bobby Rush (D-Il.), “In my household I told Castro he is known as the ultimate survivor,” Rush continued. I am sure he is like an old friend to Bobby Rush who was once a member of the Black Panthers.
California Representative Laura Richardson reported about Castro that “he listened [and] he said the exact same thing ‘about turning the page’ as President Obama said.” Richardson claimed that Castro knew her district and name and that “he looked right into my eyes and” asked how he could help her and President Obama.
President Bush had always promised to veto legislation to overturn the prohibitions on travel and those threats kept such proposals at bay. But now that we have a Marxist President and a Marxist run Congress, travel restrictions to Cuba are guaranteed to be lifted. And so now we will reward Castro with American travel dollars. Che would be so proud.
