Obama’s Special Olympics Comment No Gaffe

Did you watch the Jay Leno show last night with our new celebrity messiah?  I did not bother because I could care less about this attention hound known as our president trying to tout his outrageous budget like he is still campaigning.  But I did just watch the tape on Fox & Friends and heard the unbelieveable thing he said that was dubbed a “gaffe”.  This was no gaffe!  This is an outrage that cannot just be smoothed over with the apology that is sure to come this morning.  This incident is what happens when the President does not have the teleprompter speaking for him and it reveals, once again, the soul of this man.  This is what he thinks about the mentally disabled – an elitist disdain that is not surprising.

So if you did not see the show and have not seen the clip that MSNBC will be trying hard to hide today, here is what happened.  Jay Leno and the President were discussing the President’s bowling skills and lack thereof and he informed Leno that he had recently bowled something like 129.  The audience laughed and Leno chuckled and then the President reached over and grabbed Leno’s arm to get his attention and said, “It was like Special Olympics or something.”  Mr. President, I know disabled people who could put you to shame on the alley.  And what’s more, they put you to shame as people.  The most caring and loving and innocent of all of God’s people because they are not bothered by what people think of them – something that completely consumes you.

And I want to hear the Kennedys on this one.  The Special Olympics is your baby and you better have something to say today!  Obama, apology not excepted whenever you get around to making one.

  1. I watched it.
    He came across fantastically.
And given that his popularity according to Gallup is 62%, I doubt that you Republicans (who appear to have been asleep for eight years) are being taken seriously anywhere in the World right now.

  2. WOW, this story is unbelievable! I didn’t bother to watch his appearance either and I prob. would have never found out what he said from the mainstream media! I find it disgraceful that he would make a joke like that just because he is on some late-night garbage program that a President has no right being on anyways! I think ALL the disabled/challenged people should be very insulted and they should go after this poor excuse for a President! He has no integrity, no morals and def. no values of any sort! He cares about his media spotlight and his name being praised in the tabloids. He doesn’t care about the Amercian people, this country or the economy whatsoever! I think this just another example of many showing the true colors of this lowlife.

  3. The media use to comment on how Cheney was Bush’s brain. I guess the teleprompter is Obama’s.

  4. He has hurt many families in America. He needs to say he is sorry in the public, not to an organization.

In addition, someone who claims to have experienced prejudice and stereotypes throughout life, and has written about them in great detail, should be more sensitive and refined from life’s lessons.

Furthermore, Obama claimed he was going to have the world think ‘highly’ of America again. Will this joke help?

For someone who spoke of equality as a creed. Does this joke match that philosophy?

For someone that said he would stand for all people. Does this stand up for those that participate in the special Olympics?

The fact is Obama claimed a higher standard. To much is given, much is required.

Obama has just showed us that ‘yes we can’ destroy what a campaign stands for with a single joke.

During the campaign for the White House in 2008, the media criticized Palin for being ‘common,’ ‘not-polished,’ ‘not-compassionate’ and ‘not presidential.’ However, compare Sarah Palins attitude in this video created three weeks ago for the Special Olympics in Boise, Idaho.

You decide the more ‘presidential’ among them. Watch: http://tinyurl.com/ccz6nj

  5. It wasn’t a very nice thing to say, and Obama is taking his lumps for it, and rightfully so. But as Conservative Christians all know, you don’t judge by what is said, you judge by their fruits, and if Obama governs well, which I believe he will, the fruits of what he does will by how he is judged by the people. So, while you stoke your outrage for as long as you can milk it, the world moves on, the Reagan era of Union busting, deregulation, and destroying the middle class in America is heading for the ash heap of history. Just consider this: Bush did about everything he set out to do, in spite of resistance, being unpopular, the media, the blogs, all the forces who opposed him and the daily drum beat of your hated “liberal media”, do you really thing that Obama will not be able to accomplish the things he is setting out to do in spite of your bellyaching? All I can say is I do thank Bush for his failed leadership and for being rejected by the voters and allowing Obama to be our President, without George Bush, I don’t think Obama would be changing the direction of the country like he is today. The majority of Americans who voted for change really do appreciate Bush at least for that…..
