The AP has a story out today revealing something they must think they just scooped: President Obama cannot speak publicly without a teleprompter. Shocking is it not? For those of us who have followed President Obama closely since he threw his hat into the presidential campaign, we know that Obama stops and starts, loses his place and uses ah and um like they are verbs, adjectives, nouns and the like when he is “off the cuff”. A White House reporter was quoted as saying, “You couldn’t get a good angle on him with McCain. So if there’s someone else important in the frame, it’s hard to get a shot without the teleprompter.”
It seems that the president doesn’t go anywhere without hisWhether it is a local townhall, a speech at an Indiana manufacturing plant or the White House’s grand parlors, the Teleprompter is there.Obama’s reliance on the teleprompter is unusual — not only because he is famous for his oratory, but because no other president has used one so consistently and at so many events, large and small. The problem that arises from relying so heavily on the device is that sometimes it malfunctions. At these times, the President is required to “wing it” and the results are less then melodious. This forced the President to consider weaning himself off the Teleprompter, but that has not worked out as desired.
Presidential historian, Martha Joynt Kumar said, “It’s just something presidents haven’t done. It’s jarring to the eye. In a way, it stands in the middle between the audience and the president because his eye is on the teleprompter.”
The AP reports, “Obama has relied on a teleprompter through even the shortest announcements and when repeating the same lines on his economic stimulus plan that he’s been saying for months — whereas past presidents have mostly worked off of notes on the podium except during major speeches, such as the State of the Union.”
“It removes you from the audience in the room,” Ari Fleischer, former White House Spokesman, said. The White House has said that Obama’s point of reference is insignificant. Really? I think most American people like to be looked in the eye when they are being spoken to, but that is usually difficult for someone who is not being completely truthful. It is difficult for Obama to look at a group when he wants to seperate himself from his audience. That is the way of the elite.
This revelation about the Teleprompter brings into the spotlight something the Obama disciples do not want to consider. Your man is a fraud. There are rumors that he did not write his two biographies – some claim it is the work of Bill Ayers – and we have no record to observe in his past of any serious writing that he has done. Why would we believe he writes his speeches?
As the White House tries to play down this crutch, it should cause concern for the American people for the reasons I have cited. But there is another reason why this should concern the moonbats. For years we listened to you declare that President Bush was a baffoon who could not speak. Can you really claim that President Obama is any different?
