We’re not even through the first week of post-election and the Obama-mania is reaching new heights. First, we have a man who claims to be a journalist not only admitting his bias when it comes to Obama, but this:
CHRIS MATTHEWS: Yeah, well, you know what? I want to do everything I can to make this thing work, this new presidency work, and I think that —
JOE SCARBOROUGH: Is that your job? You just talked about being a journalist!
MATTHEWS: Yeah, it is my job. My job is to help this country.
SCARBOROUGH: Your job is the make this presidency work?
MATTHEWS: To make this work successfully. This country needs a successful presidency.
Yeah, I seem to remember those same sentiments for President Bush. Oh wait, the media cried for weeks and months about a stolen election, but now we are all suppose to get on board. And now here we have a video that was made sometime ago by a Finnish production company observing our school system. The teacher is openingly campaigning for Obama to her young students not only in words but with an Obama ’08 button visible on her shirt. She puts down students who support McCain and has the audacity *ahem* to tell one little girl that McCain will keep her soldier father in Iraq for 100 years. But they’re not indoctrinating our children in schools. And I’ve heard rumors that for the first time since President Roosevelt, all classrooms will be required to have a picture of President-elect Obama in them. Let the worship begin.
And now for the really ridiculous…caymannetnews.com is reporting, “The government of Antigua and Barbuda has even gone so far as to dedicate its highest mountain peak in the president-elect’s honour and rename it ‘Mount Obama’.”
This is only going to get more ridiculous. Wait until they start calling this presidency the “new Camelot” and compare Obama to President Kennedy. Oh wait, that’s already started too!
