The Fruits Of The Obama Presidency, Part 1

This is the first in many more blogs to come in the future documenting the Obama presidency as it takes root and grows.  The first fruit from the Obama win last night is that the racism wall is broken.  No longer can blacks use their slavery ancestory as an excuse to be never-do-wells.  They can no longer claim that a black man cannot get ahead in this country.  Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton are finished – there is aways a silver lining.

That’s it for the good fruit.  Today Obama has already set a precedent that goes back on one of his campaign’s themes, that he is going to be a uniter and bi-partisan, and has named his first cabinet member – Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel, a Clinton throwback who is as partisan as it gets.  Here is what Salon.com has written about the guy, “That night, on the northwest side, Rahm Emanuel was elected to Congress. A former Clinton whiz kid who’d gotten his start as a fundraiser for Mayor Richard M. Daley, Emanuel was connected — in the three years after leaving the White House (where he’d helped push through NAFTA), he earned $16 million putting together Wall Street mergers. He was also zealously partisan. He had once owned a consulting business devoted to finding skeletons in Republican closets. At a Clinton victory dinner in Little Rock in 1992, Emanuel celebrated by reciting a hoped-for necrology of Democrats who had “f@*&ed” the president-elect. After every name, he stabbed a steak knife into a table and screamed, ‘Dead man!'” and “‘The Jewish LBJ,’ political scientist Larry Sabato calls him, not only for his ambition but also for his reputation as an amoral political animal focused only on power.”  He also has been quoted as saying the Republicans “could go f**k themselves”.  Sounds like a great choice, eh?  Expect to see Robert Kennedy, Jr. named as EPA Chief and John Kerry is pushing for Secretary of State.

In other news following this momentous win, the stock market tanked dropping over 500 points.  Wall Street seems jubilant over the Obama win.  And in still better news, The Turkish Weekly is reporting that Russia plans to deploy short-range Iskander missiles towards the Polish border.  Oh boy, hope Obama is ready for Biden’s crisis.  I’m sure Russia will listen to what he tells them to do.
