What Does This Pork Have To Do With Economic Emergency?

We’ve watched unfold over the past couple of weeks an example of how the American government works in our current day.  That example reveals an ineffective, slow moving and pork loving government.  A bill that started out as three pages has grown to a monster over four hundred pages long, filled with crap.  Most of that crap appears to have little to do with getting the economy on the right track.  Not only will this bill not do what leaders are telling us it will do, it makes matters worse and bogs down the system.  If they instead were to cut, cut, and cut and did away with bad regulations and taxes, this economy would rise like a hot air balloon dumping weight.

Here is just a sampling of what they have sneaked into this bill that raises the entire cost another $100+ billion:

Sec. 311  Extension of election to expense advanced mine safety equipment

Sec. 312 Deduction allowable with respect to income attributable to domestic production activities in Puerto Rico.

Sec. 314 Indian employment credit.   WHAT!?

Sec. 315 Accelerated depreciation for business property on indian reservations.

Sec. 54E Qualified zone academy bonds. – Money for educational purposes in an economic bill?!

Sec. 203 Deduction for certain expenses of elementary and secondary school teachers. – Although this is a good idea, does it belong here?

Sec. 309 Extension of economic development credit for American Samoa. – What?!

This one is great: Sec. 503 Exemption from excise tax for certain wooden arrows designed for use by children.  – Where in the hell do they come up with this stuff?

Sec. 502 Provisions related to film and television productions.  – Now a tip of the hat to Hollywood?!

Somebody, anybody tell me what this has to do with the economy: Sec. 402 Permanent authority for disclosure of information relating to terrorist activities.

This is just what I have had time to scan this morning.  There is no way that our “leaders” read through this whole thing either or they would have to feel like the complete idiots they are.  Anyone who voted “Yes” on this piece of crap should be looked at from now on through a skeptical eye (I know, I know, they all should be really) because they are crying that the sky is falling and America is going to crash and then they give us this.  And they hope enough of you are sleeping that you’ll miss it.  We need to start paying attention to what they are doing to us here.  I’m getting on the phone again today to make sure my representative stays on my side of the street here.  Kill the bill!!!!
