Forget Iraq, McCain Wants To Fight Climate Change

Anyone would be an idiot to not believe that climate change is a reality and ongoing since the beginning of time.  To believe in such a thing as global warming going on presently and as a man made condition though, does take an idiot.  There has been absolutely no credible evidence that global warming is taking place and all current science points to ongoing global cooling.  The global warming crowd has had to embrace the term “climate change” to try to gain legitimacy.  There has also been no proof that humans can affect the climate in such drastic ways.  I think that credit goes to God.  He made the world to transition from various points.  As a matter of fact, I come from the point of view that before the Great Flood of Noah, the earth was entirely different than it is now – entirely a subtropical paradise.  The Flood was real climate change.

I bring all this up because one of the Achilles’ heels of John McCain is his view on global warming and climate change.  McCain gave a speech at the Vestas Wind Technology Plant in Portland, Oregon in which he discussed our needs for clean energy to combat climate change.  While I do agree that we need to seek out these alternative, cleaner energies, I believe we need to focus on the here and now.  These other energies are future – way future because we cannot afford them, nor wait for them.  Senator McCain believes that climate change is more important though.  He said, “The facts of global warming demand our urgent attention.” {Emphasis mine}  Um, did he really say “facts”?!  McCain said he would pursue mandatory US curbs on greenhouse gas emissions.  I already thought much of this was in place from years ago.  He also wants us to take the lead in combating climate change.  That would be great as long as the rest of the world is right behind us and I mean right behind us.  If countries like China and India are not on board, then we will be shooting ourselves in the foot competition wise.

I also don’t like the globalistic feel to McCain’s environmental policy.  He wants us to seek international accords to reduce greenhouse gas emissions which history tells us will leave America holding the short stick.  He also said he would “lead and lead with a different approach…an approach that speaks to the interests and obligations of every nation.”  Kind of like nation building right, Mr. McCain?  If you want to be president of America, focus on America.  If you want to change the world, then go for Secretary General of the UN.

  1. It’s what you would expect from a neocon who wants to occupy Iraq for 100 years, occupy Iran for an unspecified period of time, and generally take all the freedom which Americans have won over the years and export it to countries which do not want it, leaving us with none.

Don’t blame me, I voted Ron Paul, and I’ll be voting Libertarian in the upcoming election. A pox on the neocons.
