Happy Thanksgiving 2009!

November 26, 2009 · 1 Comment

Thank you to all of you who have supported my blog by either reading it, blogrolling it, linking to articles, backtracking to me and commenting.  You are all greatly appreciated.  I am thankful to God for my life and the sacrifice of his son, Jesus Christ, that my life may continue into eternity.  I am thankful to God for all the great blessings in my life, which include all of my family and friends, my two pups, my unalienable rights and all the necessities of life.  I am thankful that I have work and plenty of it that I am able to share with those who do not.  I am thankful to our military personnel who allow me to live safely in a free country that affords me the ability to enjoy my blessings.  I am thankful that I live in a country in which I am able to speak out freely via this blog, my radio show and at protests and rallies.  Because of my gratitude I am fortified and even more resolute in my fight to save this country from the destructive forces of socialism, Marxism, nepotism, corruption, godlessness, greed, envy and apathy.  May God bless you this Thanksgiving and God bless America!

In the past I have posted Washington’s Thanksgiving Proclamation, this year I bring you Abraham Lincoln’s and I hope that you will join me on August 28th at his feet with other Americans who desire to keep this country the way God designed it to be:

“The year that is drawing towards its close, has been filled with the blessings of fruitful fields and healthful skies. To these bounties, which are so constantly enjoyed that we are prone to forget the source from which they come, others have been added, which are of so extraordinary a nature, that they cannot fail to penetrate and soften even the heart which is habitually insensible to the ever watchful providence of Almighty God. In the midst of a civil war of unequalled magnitude and severity, which has sometimes seemed to foreign States to invite and to provoke their aggression, peace has been preserved with all nations, order has been maintained, the laws have been respected and obeyed, and harmony has prevailed everywhere except in the theatre of military conflict; while that theatre has been greatly contracted by the advancing armies and navies of the Union. Needful diversions of wealth and of strength from the fields of peaceful industry to the national defence, have not arrested the plough, the shuttle, or the ship; the axe had enlarged the borders of our settlements, and the mines, as well of iron and coal as of the precious metals, have yielded even more abundantly than heretofore. Population has steadily increased, notwithstanding the waste that has been made in the camp, the siege and the battle-field; and the country, rejoicing in the consciousness of augmented strength and vigor, is permitted to expect continuance of years, with large increase of freedom.

“No human counsel hath devised nor hath any mortal hand worked out these great things. They are the gracious gifts of the Most  High God, who, while dealing with us in anger for our sins, hath nevertheless remembered mercy.

“It has seemed to me fit and proper that they should be solemnly, reverently and gratefully acknowledged as with one heart and voice by the whole American people. I do therefore invite my fellow citizens in every part of the United States, and also those who are at sea and those who are sojourning in foreign lands, to set apart and observe the last Thursday of November next, as a day of Thanksgiving and Praise to our beneficent Father who dwelleth in the Heavens. And I recommend to them that while offering up the ascriptions justly due to Him for such singular deliverances and blessings, they do also, with humble penitence for our national perverseness and disobedience, commend to his tender care all those who have become widows, orphans, mourners or sufferers in the lamentable civil strife in which we are unavoidably engaged, and fervently implore the interposition of the Almighty Hand to heal the wounds of the nation and to restore it as soon as may be consistent with the Divine purposes to the full enjoyment of peace, harmony, tranquillity and Union.”
Abraham Lincoln, October 3, 1863

Conservatives Winning Twitter Battle

August 21, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Liberal bloggers have had to admit that although they had the upper hand in the world of the Internet during President Bush’s eight years and the 2008 Presidential campaign, conservatives are the reigning leaders on Twitter.  CNN quoted liberal blogger Gina Cooper who helped organize Netroots Nation as saying, ”While it is obvious the progressive blogosphere is superior, we are being out-organized on Twitter.  There is some catching up to do on the progressive side.”

Tracy Viselli who attended the liberal activist gathering, Netroots Nation, agreed saying, “”Twitter is a news funnel.  Conservatives are very tightly knit and getting their message out very well.”  And I would have to agree.  Twitter is constantly tweeting news stories and opinions from the conservative side as stories break and live tweeting press conferences, townhalls and speeches.

“Twitter is the best example of the most modern technology and how folks are organizing,” David All, a GOP new media consultant who has helped galvanize the party on Twitter, told CNN.  He points to the success of hashtags – a popular way to keep track of a conversation – on Twitter. “#TCOT” (top conservatives on Twitter) has seen much more success on Twitter than “#P2 (progressives 2.0).

And truth be told, I believe that conservatives are winning the battle across the entire internet via blogging, social networking, videography, internet radio and grassroots organizing.  Hundreds of grassroots organizations representing the conservative movement have formed during the 2008 Presidential campaign and in the months following Obama’s Inauguration Day.  I myself have become much more politically active due to the conservative activity on the internet.  And much more informed.

GOP “Leaders” Throw Sand In Sarah Palin’s Face

May 4, 2009 · 2 Comments

As I wrote in an earlier blog, the GOP just does not get it and they seem to think that eating their own is a good idea.  Mitt Romney insulted Sarah Palin in an interview on CNN’s State of the Union program on Sunday.  There is a full article on that here.  He was asked about Time Magazine referring to Sarah Palin as one of the most influential people in America and he asked if it was actually the most beautiful people that Time was referencing.  What an idiotic move!  We already had the left defining Palin as just a pretty face with no brain and now the supposed leadership in the GOP is doing the same thing.

But wait there is more from this GOP gang that is trying to promote themselves as a grassroots movement moving the GOP forward.  Eric Cantor and Mitt Romney blamed the 2008 loss on the economic crisis and not on anything the GOP had done.  CNN has a story and video on that here.  Mitt Romney commented to John King, “I frankly believe that much of what happened in the last election revolved around the fact that the economy fell apart at the time we were, if you will, holding the hot potato. Republicans and Democrats have been playing this game, passing the hot the potato, spending money like there was no tomorrow.”

Well, if these men (notice that no women are a part of this new campaign and includes only white men) would take two seconds to pay attention to the actual grassroots, they might get a clue what the GOP needs to change in order to be successful in the future.  I voted Republican because Sarah Palin was on the ticket.  Otherwise, the GOP would not have received my vote and I am in the majority when it comes to conservatives.

Listen up boys – we plan on firing you all, so stop wasting your time traversing the country!

One Year Anniversary

February 10, 2009 · 2 Comments

Today marks one year since I ventured out into the blogosphere and tried my hand at this thing called blogging.  I honestly thought I would get a couple hundred hits at most, mainly from family and friends.  I may not be hitting it like other blogs that are in the millions, but my 26,000 hits is enough for me.  I thank each and every one of you that has visited my blog and especially I thank those of you who have cared enough to comment – even the critics.  This has been a wonderful adventure that I have expanded out into internet radio and I am having a great time.  Thanks for a great year and here’s to the next which will only get better!

Barack Obama On This Week With George Stephanopoulos

January 12, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Let me just highlight some of my favorite quotes from Barack Obama on This Week with George Stephanopoulos.  I for one was very relieved that they discussed the real crisis here in America – what dog to buy for the girls.  Sorry I couldn’t help myself.  On that point, has anyone noticed that the Obama family are looking at some of the elite, designer type dogs?  What happened to a rescue mutt?

Here is quote 1:  “And it’s going to take some time to fix it. But what we tried to do was put forward a plan that says let’s act boldly, let’s act swiftly. Let’s not only provide a jumpstart to the economy and immediately or save 3 million jobs, but let’s also put a down payment on some of the structural problems that we have in our economy.”  Did you catch that down payment part?  One trillion is a down payment!

Quote #2:  “Well, let’s look at the package as a whole, the bulk of the package is direct government spending. And here are a few things we’re going to do. We’re going to alternative energy production. We are going to weatherize 2 million homes. We are going to create a much more efficient energy system.”  Well, at least he is honest about what this stimulus is – spending.

Quote #3:   “I think we can create a new green economy. And that’s going to be one of the keys to the 21st Century.”  A green economy is a failing economy.  Coal bankrupt means America bankrupt.  Mercury filled lightbulbs means poison in our homes and landfills(does anybody believe that people are going to recycle these bulbs?).  Fees and fines bankrupt America businesses.  Obama economy = failure.

Quote #4:  “And so then the question becomes, do tax cuts also provide a stimulus? Do they also help? And they may not help as much as some of the direct spending projects do, but they still provide a stimulus, especially if they are targeted towards people who are really in need.”  Said like the perfect Marxist.  Tax cuts may help?!  And for those really in need?!  They don’t pay taxes – you’re giving them welfare.  This guy is such an idiot and I cannot believe he will be in charge of our economy.

Quote #5:  “We can’t set up a situation where we’re adding to the structural deficit over the long-term. We can’t have waste and abuse in it. We can’t have earmarks in it.”  My God, has he even read his own package?  Talk about earmarks.  And we’re not adding to the structural deficit?!  I am almost positive that he said that we have to ignore the deficits at a time like this.

George called Obama on the earmarks thing and pointed one out that is some kind of museum in Las Vegas and Obama said that he would prefer [Quote #5]:  “You know, I would prefer spending money on things like making sure that all federal buildings are energy efficient so the taxpayers are saving money over the long-term.”  I laugh everytime he states this idea because who believes that energy efficient buildings are really going to make a difference.  Especially when discussing trillions of dollars in bailouts and spending.  Are we idiots?  We must be because our incoming President obviously thinks so.

Quote #6:  When asked about how Obama will deal with a certain conflict with Iran he said, “And we are going to have to take a new approach. And I’ve outlined my belief that engagement is the place to start. That the international community is going to be taking cues from us in how we want to approach Iran.  And I think that sending a signal that we respect the aspirations of the Iranian people, but that we also have certain expectations in terms of how a international actor behaves, is…Well, I think a new emphasis on respect and a new emphasis on being willing to talk, but also a clarity about what our bottom lines are.”  Yes, let’s make sure we show the terrorists respect.  I feel safer already.

Quote #7:  “We are going to close Guantanamo and we are going to make sure that the procedures we set up are ones that abide by our constitution. “   If you listened to my predictions radio show you know I think this is a huge mistake.  How can we afford to lose our only base between Cuba/Venezuela/Russia and our homeland?

Everytime Barack Obama opens his mouth I feel as though I am falling further down the rabbit hole.  He opens up a little more each time anf slowly reveals his ultimate plans.  And most of them are not good for America.

My Predictions For The Year 2009

January 2, 2009 · 2 Comments

First, I am not a psychic.  Secondly, I can be fairly irreverent.  So here are my predictions for what we can expect in the year 2009 in no specific order:

1.  The infrastructure stimulus package will be passed at a whopping $1 trillion in cost.

2.  McCain and Obama will join forces and finally pass an Amnesty Bill.

3.  The illegals who have run back home due to our falling economy will return and bring many more with them since they can get amnesty and will have plenty of jobs working on our infrastructure due to stimulus package.

4.  Obama closes Gitmo and towards the end of the year, Russia sets up a base on Cuba and Venezuelan Dictator Hugo Chavez becomes co-shadow leader of Cuba with Vladimir Putin.

5.  The Fairness Doctrine passes targeting only radio.  Several conservative local shows go under but XM and other satellite radios take off as well as short wave radio because people want conservative talk.

6.  Unable to pass stricter gun laws on law-abiding citizens, Obama passes a gun and ammunition tax that makes it nearly impossible for Americans to arm themselves.

7.  During the summer, terrorist groups who have come through our porous borders attack mid-western cities with chemical weapons and bombs.  Obama wets himself and then gives a strongly worded speech.  Shortly thereafter, the terrorists make an attempt on his life.

8.  The nuclear proliferation limits that the world has tried to place on us will be embraced by our new government and they will start dismantling nuclear weapons.  The missile defense systems will never be put into place.  Russia builds up their nuclear arsenal.

9.  Terrorists attack again before the end of the year hitting malls during high traffic Christmas gift buying season.

10.  The stock market continues to yo-yo and ends down again having lost another 20% by year end.

11.  Unemployment rate reaches doubt digits even though Obama saves 2 million jobs.  I’m thinking about 12%.  The 2 million jobs are in the green market and most employees receive large paychecks for changing light bulbs and vacuuming out vent systems.

12.  The year ends the coldest yet and the polar bear population doubles again.

13.  Pam Anderson falls into a pen of wild pigs and suffers irreparable boob damage.  (Sorry I needed a little comic relief about now.)  She vows to get back at them by eating bacon every morning.

14.  The second Great Depression begins and appears that it will be worse then the first as Congress and Obama continue to throw money at the problems.

15.  Chrysler, after asking for money again, goes under.  GM stays afloat with another bailout.

16.  By March the original bailout needs to be bailed out because all the money is gone and more companies have come begging.

17.  By April the infrastructure bailout needs a bailout because more cities and states falter.

18.  The only thing that keeps the dollar from completely dissolving in 2009 is that no country’s currency has any real worth.  Bartering starts to be contemplated.

19.  Nancy Pelosi’s latest plastic surgery goes horribly wrong.  Barney Frank must now speak for her as she writes what she wants said.

20.  Hillary Clinton brokers a peace deal with Israel and the Palestinians.  Two days later Israel shoots down an approaching nuclear bomb supplied by Iran.  The Israel/Iran War starts and broadens into the Middle East War.

21.  The Freedom From Religion Cult lobbies for a new First Amendment and gets it passed stating that there is now really a separation of Church and State and only their religion, er I mean ideaology can be displayed publicly.

22.  Universal health-care is implemented.  Hundreds of doctors decide to become Light Bulb Changing Engineers because the money is better.  Americans now go to Canada for health-care.

23.  Obama raises middle class taxes because sometimes “he’ll do things that seem wrong at first” and the middle class now pays 40% income tax.

24.  Along with the above, Obama starts a new federal pension plan program that absorbs everyone’s IRAs and 401Ks and a new 2% FICA tax is added to our tax burden.

25.  America wakes up towards the New Year and realizes what they have done.

26.  I sail away to a remote tropical island.

Please add your own because I know I must have missed some of the psychic brainwaves.  Or maybe I got some of them wrong?

My Pick For Soundbite Of The Year

December 31, 2008 · 3 Comments

There were so many to choose from, but I think this one is most indicative of the past couple months in this country and where we are headed in 2009.  It really gives one “hope”.  Happy New Year to you all anyway!

Merry Christmas Everyone!

xmas-08-santa

From my family to yours, the very merriest of Christmases.  I wish I could send sun for you Northerners with this Christmas wish, but alas I cannot.  Plus, it is raining a tad here so that should make you feel better.  “Do not be afraid.  I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all people.  Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; He is Christ the Lord.”  (Luke 2:10-11)

Washington’s Thanksgiving Proclamation

November 27, 2008 · Leave a Comment

As we all sit down today with family and friends let us not forget our soldiers who are not with their families today.  Let us not forget the people who are working today so that the country may continue to run seemlessly.  And let us not forget the people in India who are suffering today after devastating multiple terrorists attacks that remind us that it is not just our economy that we should be focusing on.  Let us not forget those who are homeless and will be served meals by one of the countless charitable organizations we have here in America.  Let us not forget the people who will be doing that serving.  And let us not forget the reason that this special holiday has been set aside as put forth by one of the greatest presidents we will ever have, President George Washington:

WHEREAS it is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey His will, to be grateful for His benefits, and humbly to implore His protection and favour; and Whereas both Houses of Congress have, by their joint committee, requested me “to recommend to the people of the United States a DAY OF PUBLICK THANKSGIVING and PRAYER, to be observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many and signal favors of Almighty God, especially by affording them an opportunity peaceably to establish a form of government for their safety and happiness:”

NOW THEREFORE, I do recommend and assign THURSDAY, the TWENTY-SIXTH DAY of NOVEMBER next, to be devoted by the people of these States to the service of that great and glorious Being who is the beneficent author of all the good that was, that is, or that will be; that we may then all unite in rendering unto Him our sincere and humble thanks for His kind care and protection of the people of this country previous to their becoming a nation; for the signal and manifold mercies and the favorable interpositions of His providence in the course and conclusion of the late war; for the great degree of tranquility, union, and plenty which we have since enjoyed;– for the peaceable and rational manner in which we have been enable to establish Constitutions of government for our safety and happiness, and particularly the national one now lately instituted;– for the civil and religious liberty with which we are blessed, and the means we have of acquiring and diffusing useful knowledge;– and, in general, for all the great and various favours which He has been pleased to confer upon us.

And also, that we may then unite in most humbly offering our prayers and supplications to the great Lord and Ruler of Nations and beseech Him to pardon our national and other transgressions;– to enable us all, whether in publick or private stations, to perform our several and relative duties properly and punctually; to render our National Government a blessing to all the people by constantly being a Government of wise, just, and constitutional laws, discreetly and faithfully executed and obeyed; to protect and guide all sovereigns and nations (especially such as have shewn kindness unto us); and to bless them with good governments, peace, and concord; to promote the knowledge and practice of true religion and virtue, and the increase of science among them and us; and, generally to grant unto all mankind such a degree of temporal prosperity as he alone knows to be best.

GIVEN under my hand, at the city of New-York, the third day of October, in the year of our Lord, one thousand seven hundred and eighty-nine.

(signed) G. Washington

As a few in our country try to take God out of the public square particularly at Christmas time, let us remember that He is the one who gives them the freedom to reject Him and for that God-given freedom, I will always be thankful.

Happy Thanksgiving everybody!
