Glenn Beck announced this past week that he had formulated a plan to take back America and that he would be sharing it at his book signing at The Villages on Saturday (today). So I made my way north and brought the Geritol with me. It was a beautiful day in The Villages as they say. Glenn arrived a little before four eastern time and was met by an energetic crowd of what I would estimate to be about 6,000 people. There possibly were more, but I could not see the entire crowd. The center square where Glenn held his rally is the same one that hosted Sarah Palin during the campaign. It is an internal park area, but is surrounded by streets and sidewalks, which people had spilled out onto. They only issued 2,000 wristbands for the book signing and I was one of the lucky recipients.
Glenn gave a stirring and passionate speech and laid out an outline of the plan he has for us to take back America. It is a 100 year plan and he pointed out the reason that his plan is set against so many years is that it took us a long time to get here and will take much time to dismantle the Progressive structure around us. After all, we have just made the first step of finally having the opportunity to audit the Fed, so the idea that we could abolish it overnight is unrealistic.
Glenn has assembled a large team of experts broken into groups of three according to each area of expertise, for example there are money experts and community organizing experts. Glenn is breaking the country into seven regions and each region will host a convention that will be a full day or possibly a weekend of education about our history and the different areas of expertise. The first convention will be held in Orlando on March 27th. For the other regions, Glenn is setting up an area on his site for people to vote which city in each region they would like to have host the next convention.
These conventions will culminate in a huge gathering at the feet of Abraham Lincoln in Washington DC on August 28th. Glenn is hoping to have several thousand, I am hoping for millions, so that our representatives will be forced to listen to us. We will be an educated and angry mob hell-bent to take back our country peacefully. Glenn gave us our first action step, which is to be an example in your individual life. He pointed out that if you are in debt, get out of debt. We need to take personal responsibility so that we can hold DC responsible.
It was a very motivating speech and then the book signing started. This is the second time I have attended a Glenn Beck book signing. It was great getting to shake his hand and thank him again. This time, though, I added something else. I held Glenn’s hand to make sure he heard me and I said, “Glenn, I am part of another non-existent group: gay conservatives. We stand with you too.” Glenn looked me in the eye and held onto my hand and pulled me towards him and said, “God bless you.”
When it comes to freedom and the Constitution, it really does not matter who we are. We are all in this fight together and it is going to take each and every one of us. Thank you to Glenn for being our inspiration! I just finished this as news broke that the Senate got the 60 votes to move ReidCare into debate – now more than ever – WE ARE AT WAR!
UPDATE: The Villages paper, The Daily Sun, reports that 25,000 people were in attendance – I guess I was a little off.
Come on Tea Party Patriots – let’s get this thing viral. Ava Aston has a stunning voice and holds all the conservative values I hold so dear. She is grassroots and the video proves that she is willing to fight for this country as well. She is fast becoming an internet sensation, which is the best place to start in our present age. You can check out more about Ava here.
There was an Autumn chill in the air as the Tea Party Express rolled into Orlando, but that did not stop the patriots from coming. At least 6,000 to 7,000 people were in attendance for the final stop on the Tea Party Express bus tour. And we were not disappointed as the Tea Party Express pulled out all the stops with speakers we have come to know very well. There was Kenneth Gladney, who you might remember as the black conservative beat up by SEIU thugs in St. Louis.
There was Katy Abrams, who was just your average American citizen until she stood up at Arlen Sphincter’s townhall and called him on the mat and informed him that they had awakened a sleeping giant.
Tea Party Patriot founder, Amy Kramer, spoke along with ResistNet.com’s Darla D. and Patriot’s Heart Network founder, Chalice spoke as well about her group’s work with the eligibility issue.
Lloyd Marcus performed some of his great music including the American Tea party Anthem. I had the pleasure of getting my CD autographed and getting a photograph taken:
I also had the pleasure of meeting Mark Olsen, the author of Animal Colony, whom I interviewed on the radio show last month.
It was a huge success and has set us up to issue pink slips to those in Washington DC who still refuse to listen to us. We are out here. We are great in number. We are not weary. We will only get louder and stronger. As Rick Santelli infamously declared, “President Obama, are you listening?
Today, 75,000 American citizens protested in Washington DC against the House’s new version of the ObamaCare Bill that they plan to vote on this weekend. The event started with a rally on the Capitol steps and then the protesters entered the Capitol to confront their representatives in person and expressed their desire to have this piece of crap go down in flames. Several protesters were rewarded by being arrested at the request of their representatives. So much for our freedom to assemble, particularly when this assembly took place in the People’s House.
At Joe Lieberman’s office, nine protesters were arrested after conducting a sit-in. Apparently, twenty protesters marched into the senator’s office in the morning and demanded to speak with him and their requests were denied. My former stomping grounds of Colorado has graced DC with another representative who saw fit to have his constituents arrested. Democrat Michael Bennet had the Capitol Police arrest protesters who showed up at the office at 10 am for unlawful entry. And a crowd outside of Nancy PlastiGirl Pelosi’s office who were singing “God Bless America” and chanting “Kill the Bill” were arrested for unlawful entry and unlawful conduct in the hallway.
What a sad day in America to realize that those sworn to protect the Constitution not only completely ignore it, but work to destroy it.
Saturday October 17th, 2009 Orlando joined the nationwide “Operation: Can You Hear Us Now?” This protest outside of network stations was to express our demands that the media start providing balanced coverage rather than liberal bias. American citizens protesting government intrusion and spending no longer will sit back while the media either ridicules us or provides no coverage at all. Here in Orlando we hit the three main network stations: ABC, CBS, and NBC. There were about seventy of us in attendance. NBC’s News Director did meet with us and accept one of the petitions we delivered to all three stations, but he brought no camera. Even when we bring the news to them, we still get no coverage.
As a regular tea party attendee, I follow the Tea Party Patriots grassroots group and am a member. I received an email that I want to share because I feel it is important to our movement that the following statements from Tea Party Patriots gets broad viewing. It is important for groups to distance themselves and criticize publically fellow groups that damage the work we are doing to refound our Republic. Recently, the Tea Party Express made its way across America and was covered in the media via embedded reporters from CNN and FOX News and the like. Apparently, the leadership of the group that sponsored the Tea Party Express are more about promoting themselves and funding Republicans. Protestors like myself do not endorse either party and are tired of our two party system and fed up with the government in general. To find out that this group is so in bed with the Republicans is dis-heartening. So Tea Party Patriots has delivered the following statement, which I support completely:
Tea Party Patriots wishes to confirm that it does not directly or indirectly support or endorse any activities of Our Country Deserves Better, the political action committee (PAC) responsible for the ‘Tea Party Express’ bus tour conducted from 8/28 through 9/12 of this year, and an upcoming tour recently announced.
The Vice Chairman of OCDB and spokesman for the Tea Party Express, Mark Williams, has described President Obama as an “Indonesian Muslim turned welfare thug,” and the “Racist in Chief“, phrases he defended recently in an interview on CNN. Tea Party Patriots disagrees strongly with President Obama on many issues, but we believe such statements are inappropriate and harmful to the healthy debate our country demands on challenging issues. Furthermore, Williams’ antics play into the hands of mainstream media attempts to paint the Tea Party movement as a racist, radical fringe as opposed to the genuine grassroots movement representing all walks of American life that it truly is. In addition, in June, at a Tea Party Patriots event in Sacramento, Williams was requested to stop his verbal criticism of local law enforcement officers who were trying to stop him from interfering with other lawfully assembled citizens. Among other things, Williams used his megaphone to warn those present that they needed to move away from the officers by shouting through his megaphone, “Trust me, I grew up in Boston, you don’t want a cop on horseback swinging at your head.” People on the scene objected to his behavior, and in fact, law enforcement officers on the scene were polite and respectful, and were merely trying to get Mr. Williams to respect the rights of other individuals who had lawful permits. Full video of the incident is available on request. Subsequent to the event, Williams issued a written apology for his outrageous behavior towards law enforcement officers (again, available on request). Again, this type of behavior is precisely the brush with which our opposition wishes to paint us, and we believe it is important to decisively separate ourselves from people who behave in this way.
Furthermore, Williams directly attacked the genuine heart and soul of the tea party movement on, of all days, the morning of September 12th. While patriots from around the country were gathering in Washington, Williams posted a vitriolic blog entry about the August 28th Sacramento Tea Party event (where the Tea Party Express started its tour) in which he declared that he “can now report that at the Sac828 ‘Tea Party’ event was anything but”, describing it as “a rally representing tax-subsidized agricultural and industrial interests” whose speakers were “lobbyists and other representatives of big business.” On the contrary, the organizers and speakers at the Sacramento event represented a tremendous grassroots effort on the part of hardworking local organizers from across California fighting the worst aspects of big government gone wild. Williams further bragged in an email to TPP leadership that “The national media embedded with me has been waiting for me to publish this story [with a link to his blog post] so that they can run with it.” On the day when our fellow patriots were gathering in and focusing all eyes on the amazing event in Washington, Mark Williams was apparently focused on promoting divisive and false accusations about the Tea Party movement to the mainstream media.
Finally, Our Country Deserves Better is a PAC. And while we have no problems with PACs, and they definitely have their place in the political system today, they fulfill a very different role than the tea parties. If you take the time to review OCDB’s FEC filings, you will find pages and pages of expenditures for Republican candidates and against Democrat candidates. Equally important, the political knowledge, muscle and primary operations of the PAC appear to come from a political consulting firm in Sacramento called Russo Marsh & Rogers. A review of the RMR website shows that they are long time Republican political consultants. As of this writing, their website appears to indicate that their electoral work across the country has been on behalf of Republican candidates whom they are paid to represent, and has been for many years. And if one looks at the FEC filings, it appears that the largest portion of the money raised by OCDB gets paid directly to Russo Marsh & Rogers. Please look at the filings for yourselves and make your own determination.
While there is nothing improper about this type of partisanship, it is our belief that this is not what the tea parties are about. Tea Party Patriots has worked very hard to be issue oriented regardless of political party affiliation. We support our core values: fiscal responsibility, Constitutionally limited government, and free markets over any political party. In order to remain non-partisan, we must separate ourselves from organizations that are partisan and are attempting to raise money using the non-partisan tea party movement.
Because of Williams’ actions and his leadership role in OCDB and the Tea Party Express, and because of the partisan fundraising nature of OCDB and the Tea Party Express, the Tea Party Patriots cannot and will not support OCDB and in particular urges all local tea party activists not to participate in or support OCDB’s second national Tea Party Express bus tour. We firmly believe that the fight for limited government and the Tea Party movement has room for many groups of all types, and we effectively work with many of them. But it has no room for those who attack grassroots organizers, use the tea party movement for partisan political fund raising, or who go out of their way to make offensive statements that serve only to drive people away from our cause.
Sincerely,
Tea Party Patriots, Inc.
Note: Williams un-published his 9/12 blog post several days after posting it, and so the link no longer works. He has never apologized or retracted his statements, however; the full text of his post can be provided upon request.
Today is the day – a day that will go down in history much like the Boston Tea Party. We The People will stand in solidarity in cities across America with those that have taken the fight to Washington D.C. for the March On Washington. No longer will the government be able to ignore the tens of thousands of angry citizens who represent millions. No longer will the mainstream media be able to pass us off as a few right wing extremist nutjobs. We are the majority! And we are winning. Czars are brought into the light and must leave in Marxist shame and now ACORN has been revealed and the census has been ripped away. The momentum is building and they are shaking in their boots in Washington.
I will be here today and will, of course, have video to follow – no LIVE show today:

I join with you my fellow patriots – we will win back our country! Let’s win one for the Gipper and Jefferson!
As a small business owner, I cheer this woman. Bravo! This one piece of reform, allowing people to shop healthcare over state lines, would make a world of difference in healthcare reform. Do we find that in HR3200 or any other bill that we are told is “reform”? Absolutely not!
We are the majority. I am sick to death of reading liberal blogs and hearing leftists tell us that America voted for this because Obama got 53% of the vote. That is hardly a majority and that was then, this is now. The polls reveal that few Americans support a public option. Ask anyone if they feel alright about having their health records out for everyone to see and they will tell you “no”. The Democrats idea of reform is bogus. This is about power and control, which is why more and more Congressional Democrats are stepping away from this legislation.
Last night I attended a counter rally to an astroturf gathering put together by Organizing For America and MoveOn.org. They planned to meet at Lake Eola in downtown Orlando Florida and called the media to make sure their vigil was broadcast. Several groups of tea party organizations and individuals headed down to Lake Eola to make sure the opposition was represented. We were slightly more in number than they were and we were truly grassroots. We carried homemade signs – many made from paper plates stapled to popsicle sticks – while they carried propaganda signs with the same tired Progressive themes. One even said something about furthering the dream, which I guess meant some kind of socialist dream. In the middle of the video you will see that we were approached by a man from the other side who told us to “Shut up” and called us shameful. I guess singing patritoic songs, chanting true reforms for healthcare and telling stories of people left waiting and dead by government healthcare is considered shameful and free speech is only the right of the Progressives.
We were undeterred and made sure that the media documented our presence as well and I was pleased when I arrived home to watch the coverage to see that both sides had equal time although not equal representation, but after all we are talking libtards so one cannot expect concise and intelligent answers to questions. Our representation in the form of Jason Hoyt was beautiful! Here is the video I made of the counter rally:
Meanwhile, across the state in Brevard County, Rep. Bill Posey held a townhall that was attended by 2500 people, which caused the group to overflow into an adjacent room. Not much dissention was present save for the twenty or so MoveOn.org supporters outside on the street. Their grand plans of parody skits about the elderly and death panels, billionaires receiving WealthCare and Big Pharm CEOs seemed to have gotten lost in the fact that very few Americans support a government public option.
Now the President hopes to use his third healthcare prime time speech to convince Americans that we are just too stupid to figure out that we need and want this government intrusion in our lives. And the added touch of conducting the speech in front of the entire Congress like a State of the Union Address is just grand. We are not fooled, oh illustrious leader. You can try to mess with our children’s brains and indoctrinate us, but that tactic does not work in America where men were born free and will fight for it!
