I usually do not discuss much on tabloid fodder here at Freedom’s Wings, but as more women pop out of the woodwork (was that a bad choice of words?) I find myself giving our society a hard look. It comes as no surprise that a rich, world-famous and good-looking athlete has been stepping out on his wife and at a pace that would make George Clooney jealous. What I take issue with is how our society seems to be dealing with an individual that appears to have the moral compass of pond scum. And I do believe that Tiger Woods is pond scum.
Our society bellows against gay marriage and yet seems to take no issue with an individual that does not value marriage. I have been faithful to my partner for over fifteen years now and that is without the benefit of a certificate or the embrace and support of society. And yet, I have heard interview after interview of local golfers here in Florida and people around the nation asking them their opinion on Mistresspalooza (I claim creation rights to that -ha) and these men and WOMEN just shrug their shoulders and claim that it does not change their opinion of him and that it is a private matter. I am sorry, this is not a private issue when this pond scum makes money off of endorsing products he wants me to buy and when he is world-famous and supposedly a person that kids look up to. Not to mention that he is the reason why golf has made such a comeback.
And speaking of endorsements, Nike, Gatorade and Gillette have all come forward and stated that they are sticking by their man. As if Tiger Woods is the victim?! Why do contracts have moral clauses anyway? I do not buy any of those products anyway, but I would think long and hard before I did as long as they continue to stick by their man. This kind of behavior should be shamed to the point that Tiger Woods would have a hard time ever playing golf again because of the letter A on his back. This man not only has no consideration for women, treating his wife this way and using mistresses like prostitutes (what would you call it if he had paid them immediately after having sex with them?) but he has no consideration for his children. Tiger’s father seems to have been a beautiful man whom Tiger proudly shared with all of us. His children sure are going to have a father to be proud of in the future when they learn the truth.
Unfortunately, the reaction to Tiger Woods’ infidelity reflects more on what America has become than on Woods himself. A society that pulls prayer, nativities, the Ten Commandments and God from the center square really should not have more expected of them I suppose. And although I do not support gay marriage, I guess I will have to continue to endure how my relationship is so sinful and dangerous to the family, while people like Tiger Woods are continued to be held up and forgiven even when they have not asked for it or done anything to deserve redemption.
Wonder how the One feels about that cover of Golf Digest he did with Tiger Woods? That comes out this week I believe.
Scott Fenstermaker, the lawyer representing one of the 9/11 terrorists who will stand trial in New York City, appeared on the O’Reilly Factor last night and played a bob and weave game with Bill O’Reilly. O’Reilly pressed him on issue after issue and the lawyer side stepped answers and the answer of the evening that revealed this lawyer to be a hack came after O’Reilly asked Fenstermaker if he felt the 9/11 victims were murdered. Fenstermaker would not answer the question and said it was up to the jury to decide. I understand that when a lawyer represents individuals that he/she needs to be careful with what they say, but what American cannot admit that murder occured in NY? O’Reilly did not ask if he thought his client had committed murder. What a waste of human skin!
Fenstermaker represents Ali Abd al-Aziz Ali and met with the terrorist at GITMO. He was to represent Ali in the military tribunal until Attorney General Eric Holder decided to make a spectacle of the trial and put the prior administration and CIA on trial and so decided to move the trials to civilian court in NY. Now Fenstermaker is revealing that his client plans to plead not guilty and his defense will be that the attacks were justified. They should put the President on the stand because I am sure he would make a good case for the 9/11 terrorists since he has spent the better part of this last year apologizing for America around the world.
The fact that Ali plans to plead not guilty opens up the possibility of acquittal – something we have all feared. And since rumor has it that the terrorists plan to represent themselves with lawyers advising, this trial will be a circus with the terrorists given the ability to spew their rhetoric. I hope these libtards are pleased with what they are about to do to the American people, especially the 9/11 families. I do not know how anyone can believe that the Obama administration has any integrity or principles anymore and if this is not the final nail in Obama’s coffin, I do not know what it will take. More than likely another 9/11 attack, which our President seems to be paving the way to allow to happen.
Under pressure from the Chinese, who now own America and were honored in America with their flag being raised at the White House and the Empire State Building bathed in red and yellow lights, President Obama will not be meeting with the Dalai Lama who is the spiritual leader of Buddhism and Tibet. Since 1991, the Dalai Lama has met with every sitting president. President George W. Bush honored the Dalai Lama with the Congressional Gold Medal. The Dalai Lama has also received the Nobel Peace Prize. But Obama would rather please the Chinese than give this man the respect he deserves.
In an attempt to gain favour with China, for the first time since 1991 the US President will not meet Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama when he visits Washington this week. President Barack Obama who is scheduled to undertake his first visit to China next month has apparently decided not to meet the Dalai Lama son as not to annoy Beijing.
“The US pressured Tibetan representatives to postpone a meeting between the Dalai Lama and President Obama until after Obama’s summit with his Chinese counterpart, Hu Jintao, scheduled for next month,” Washington Post reported.
The US decision to postpone the meeting appears to be part of a strategy to improve ties with China that also includes soft-pedaling criticism of China’s human rights and financial policies as well as backing efforts to elevate China’s position in international institutions, such as the International Monetary Fund, the report said.
So I wonder how the peace loving liberals who practice Buddhism feel about this? Is Obama still your man since he promises to bring the whole world together? One day, these people on the left will realize what an empty suit of broken promises Obama really is and jump off of his bandwagon. Obama supports China rather than human rights. And really, he has left himself little choice. The government, including past presidents have left him little choice. We are beholden to China, who is our enemy as long as they continue to be Red China, because they own America. But then again, Obama would love to follow the path of China’s leadership.
Today, the trial of former Alabama Circuit Court Judge Herman Thomas begins. This bottom-of-the-muck-barrel individual is facing 103 counts that include sodomy, kidnapping, sexual abuse and extortion. The ex-judge stands accused of forcing male inmates to participate in oral and anal sex and paddling with Thomas promising to take time off their sentences if they cooperated. There are fifteen victims that have come forward thus far.
He was once a revered judge, an African-American Democrat repeatedly elected in an Alabama county that was predominantly white and Republican. But then came the scandal – and Herman Thomas’ world turned upside down.
Herman Thomas maintains that he is innocent. Is that why he retired early when the allegations started erupting? Once again we find a Democrat steeped in corruption. Now we all need to know why this man was moved up through the Judicial system. These allegations started to surface in 2001 and yet he was still on the bench until 2007. Was this man moved up because of race? Is this like Supreme Court Justice Sotomayor being moved up through the ranks finally ending up at the Supreme Court merely based on her race? It is a fact that she had the experience for the Supreme Court position, but certainly was not qualified based on her personal opinions about a Latina judge making better judgements than a white judge and that formulating policy from the bench is appropriate.
So I wonder if Herman Thomas’ idea of “mentoring” male inmates really worked? What was the recidivism rate of these inmates? Did fear of another Thomas spanking keep them on the straight and narrow?
It was all but assured. If President Obama flew to Copenhagen and pushed for Chicago to be chosen to host the Olympics in 2016, than Chicago would win without a doubt. How could the cult of personality that is named Barack Obama fail at such a simple task? The mainstream media and the libtards are befuddled and stunned. How could this happen to their star? Obama is hope and change. The world loves Obama. They were confident this morning that Chicago would win. Michelle Obama had delivered a slam dunk performance.
Many of us conservatives are stunned as well. Earlier this week on the radio, I commented that either President Obama needs some new advisors or the administration already knew that they had this bid for Chicago in the bag. A failure to land this win for Chicago would be humiliating for the President and tarnish his image. He could not possibly make such a mistake. Especially considering that Oprah Winfrey had dropped everything for this and Michelle Obama was also going to be there. A huge carbon footprint was going to be created.
Now it would seem that our President’s arrogance was not well founded. His apologies for America have not improved our image in the world. This was an epic failure – Chicago got the least amount of votes. This was a true exercise in reality for our President and indicative of the cult of personality that he has become. Everyone wants their pictures with Obama and to shake his hand, but when it comes to the hardcore affirmative support for America, the President cannot bring it. Now let us apply this scenario to something that really matters: Iran. If the President cannot convince the world to back him on the Olympics, how is he going to get that support for our efforts to stop Iran’s nuclear ambitions? No wonder Iran laughs at the President. He comes off as a panty-waist when he warns Iran that they better cooperate or else…we’re going to be really miffed! And then he cannot even land the Olympics.
The cult of personality proves to have a fatal flaw – he is impotent.
Did you ever think there would come a day when America would be so indebted to Communist China that we would herald their 60th anniversary of Chairman Mao’s concurring of China and turning it into a Communist state? What has America come to when a symbol like the Empire State Building is denigrated like this. The Empire State Building reminds of us 9/11 since it is now the tallest building in New York with the Twin Towers obliterated. The Empire State Building was an engineering achievement and symbolizes the capability of the American spirit and work force. This building was built during the Great Depression and constructed in a year. And now it is covered with Communist Red. How long before all of America looks the same?
Mr. President, if you do not plan on listening to the commander you chose and do not plan on victory, then please bring our men and women home.
Obama has more important things to take care of, like socialising America, to take the time to coordinate a different plan then the one he already laid out in March for Afghanistan. This President proved over the past week at the United Nations and G20 that he is an imbecile when it comes to foreign relations and America’s security and this move to table General McChrystal’s request for more troops leaves me wondering just exactly how much does Obama hate America?
Of course, my friends and non-friends on the left will accuse me of hyperbole, but there really is no other way to describe Obama’s feelings about America when analyzing his statements and actions from the start of his campaign all the way through to the present. He believes the Constitution is “fundamentally flawed”, that America is to blame for much of the world’s woes and regularly apologizes for us, he continuously moves to make America less safe by doing away with serious interrogations of our enemies, placating our enemies, bowing to our enemies and trying everything possible to be liked personally by our enemies. And now he has proven that he is not serious about winning in Afghanistan, which is the war he lead us to believe that he supports.
Bob Woodward in the Washington Post is reporting that Obama’s national security advisor, retired General Jim Jones said, “I don’t have a deadline in my mind. I think the most important thing is to do it right. But it is going to have a high priority in the administration to do this pretty relentlessly. We have a lot of other things on the table as well.” What things? More important than this? The General also maintained that Obama has set no deadline for a decision despite the urgent request. The President does realize that war waits for no one and his act of indecision emboldens the enemy, right? The Britains are calling our President a “panty-waist” for heaven’s sake.
It is true that this war has become more complicated than Iraq and that the recent elections make for uncertainty about the leadership of Afghanistan, but I do not trust our President to make the right decisions or give this the effort it deserves. He wants to hold several meetings over the coming months and stretch this out, which would appear to make him look like he is trying to be thoughtful, but in reality is the tactic of procrastination that he regularly uses. We are watching it with the pullout in Iraq and with Gitmo. He pushes the hard decisions off like a teenager pushing off their homework, hoping beyond hope that he will never have to get to the work.
My main point is this, and I felt this with the way Bush went about fighting both these wars, if you are not going to give this everything we have and let the military actually fight this thing, then bring our troops home and secure our nation heavily to keep the terrorists from getting us here at home. Bush did not do that and I do not expect Obama to do that either.
I have a feeling these videos are going to start cropping up everywhere and more bewildered parents will show up on Fox & Friends in the Morning, like this morning, blasting their child’s public school for indoctrinating their child without the parents’ knowledge. Get the government out of schools!
The leftists are tripping over each other in their rush to praise President Obama in his ability to get the United Nation’s Security Council to agree unanimously to clamp down on nuclear weapons and start dismantling stockpiles. James Carroll of the Daily Beast wrote, ”Obama becomes the first U.S. president to chair an extraordinary session of the UN Security Council, with its nations represented by heads of state, not diplomats…It tips Obama’s hand that, because of him, the word disarmament is back. It is not too much to say that the United Nations was founded to deal with the atomic bomb.”
The New Republic’s Michael Crowley wrote, “Clearly, that’s not how Rahm Emanuel, who’s looking a little antsy, would like to schedule the president’s time. But that’s exactly why today’s session is so important, if only in a symbolic sense…The hard work of nonproliferation involves a lot of dull meetings and treaties.”
Matthew Bunn of Harvard commented, “Obama has taken a terrific step…The resolution puts the Security Council squarely behind an agenda that includes tougher responses to violations of nonproliferation treaties, stronger inspections, a ban on nuclear testing, an end to all production of nuclear materials for nuclear weapons worldwide, and steps toward the ultimate goal of a world without nuclear weapons.”
The Atlantic’s Marc Ambinder claims the resolution tangibly advances the cause of global nonproliferation and he also praised the President for bringing Russia further than they had ever come in the area of sanctions against Iran.
The problem with all this praise is that it is as empty as the resolution, which is non-binding and doesn’t sanction anyone. The only teeth in the measure comes when a state leaves the Nuclear Non Proliferation Treaty (NPT). They are required to return any technology that has been supplied to them by other states. Wait a minute! Who the hell is giving these states nuclear supplies? Oh I am sure it is just for energy, right? The resolution also called out Israel to push them into signing the treaty.
Can liberals and the President be this naive? None of these countries are going to dismantle. Of course they signed up because America has volunteered to go first when it comes to disarmament. The United Nations has proven to be another waste of time and money again. This really turned out to just be another photo op for the President and another empty attempt to cushion his achievement list. The real work of this resolution has been pushed off until April where nothing will be achieved again. Every G20 follows this same path. Talk alot, take pictures and then push everything forward to the next meeting.
All I can say is, “What was she thinking?” Yesterday, Serena Williams was playing against Kim Clijsters in the semifinals at the US Open. On match point, a line judge made a horrible call and gave Williams a foot fault penalty. Williams foot was not over the line. I can understand the frustration and I imagine she was angry with herself as well since she was not playing as well as her opponent, but what happened after the erroneous call and led to a point penalty that gave the winning point to Clijsters even shocked John McEnroe. After the foot fault, Williams berated the line judge and hurled some insults. Then she returned to the line to finish her serve and again turned back towards the judge and laid into her some more with expletives and even telling her, “I’m going to shove this ball down your f**king throat!” Rumor has it that she also threatened the life of the judge. When the chair umpire called the judge over to see what was said, he gave Williams a point penalty. So she lost without swinging her racket.
I like the Williams sisters. They have done great things for getting people back to the sport of tennis and have been an inspiration for young girls, particularly those of color. What happened yesterday though makes me wonder what goes on in the mind of young phenoms. Tiger Woods recently lost it during a match and threw a club and has yelled at observers too many times to count. As if a person of his caliber cannot focus amid distractions. Players rountinely lose their cool in tennis and have “words” with the chair umpire, but this was beyond the pale. It brings disgrace to a sport that is known for its decorum. It brings disgrace to a sport I love. I grow weary of all these sport figures who are rewarded far more than they should be when they have their temper tantrums, commit criminal acts, sleep around and just become morally repugnate people. Kids are watching. Unfortunatley in our society, movie stars and sports figures are the ones kids want to be like.
Serena, we all know it was a bad call. Channel that frustration into aceing the next serve, not lowering yourself to the level of a street thug.
