Illegal Alien Costume Does Not Offend Me

Criminal invaders crossing into my country offends me.  A costume that is a parody on the term “illegal alien” does not offend me. The costume comes as depicted in the picture with an orange jumpsuit and a green card.  It has caused a great deal of controversy and stores like Target are pulling it from their websites.  Several immigrant advocate groups are calling on other stores to do likewise.  One woman who represents an immigration rights group in LA said, “It’s distasteful, mean-spirited and ignorant of social stigmas and current debate on immigration reform.”  My irreverent sense of humor says that this costume does no such thing.

The current debate is over whether this country should make the repeated mistake of granting these criminal invaders amnesty.  Our country has done it before and it has lead to utter failure.  President Reagan claimed that his signing off on amnesty while he was in office was one of his greatest mistakes.  True immigration reform never took place and now we have millions of illegals streaming across our borders bringing disease and crime, while quality people seeking to immigrate to America are left waiting for years.  There is no doubt that the immigration system is broken, but amnesty is not the answer.

These illegals need to grab a costume and head back to where they came from because if I had my way, that orange jumpsuit would be their real attire and they would no longer be contributing to the construction of substandard buildings, roads and committing crimes while living off Americans, they would be in jail waiting to get shipped back home.

President Obama To Make Illegals Statused With His Plan

Fox News is reporting that the President will be unveiling a plan to give legal status to $12 million illegals.  I think that $12 million number is low and that it is more like $20 million illegals in this country.  The President probably feels he needs to do this because we know that a bulk of the construction jobs that are part of the Porkulus Bill will be going to this segment of our society,  A segment that has been a dredge on our society, but is pandered to by the Democrats who lust for their votes.

The President plans to sell his plan on the idea that it is a ”policy reform that controls immigration and makes it an orderly system,” according to Cecilia Muñoz, deputy assistant to the president and director of intergovernmental affairs in the White House.  As is typical with this President and his “big government” plans, he will be putting together working groups and conducting summits with lawmakers and immigration groups to discuss what the plan should entail and then reveal it sometime in May.  The man has not gotten anything done with health care or energy yet and now he is jumping forward with this huge issue.  He reminds me of a kid running around a candy shop that wants to try everything and takes one bite out of every piece of candy – leaving the rest unfinished.  

During the campaign, Obama said that giving the $12 million illegals legal status would be a priority in his first year and Latino voters turned out in big numbers for him.  As I have said so many times, the Democrats use the miniorities for their votes and they always are so easily manipulated.

“He intends to start the debate this year,” Ms. Muñoz said.

The New York Times wrote,  “But with the economy seriously ailing, advocates on different sides of the debate said that immigration could become a polarizing issue for Mr. Obama in a year when he has many other major battles to fight.  Opponents, mainly Republicans, say they will seek to mobilize popular outrage against any effort to legalize unauthorized immigrant workers while so many Americans are out of jobs.”

Just last month, the President said, ”I know this is an emotional issue; I know it’s a controversial issue,  I know that the people get real riled up politically about this,” during a townhall in March in Costa Mesa, California.  He continued that illegals need to “have to have some mechanism over time to get out of the shadows.”  I played this soundbite on my radio program and followed it up with my rant about why they are not in the shadows.  They are in emergency rooms all over this country.  They are in welfare buildings all over this country.  I see them working on my roads on a daily basis.  They are most certainly not hiding. 

My bet is that the President will unveil some kind of plan on May 5th – the Mexican Independence that is celebrated in this country for some reason.  And it would appear that our lawmakers forget the uproar in this country over the last amnesty effort. 

“It just doesn’t seem rational that any political leader would say, let’s give millions of foreign workers permanent access to U.S. jobs when we have millions of Americans looking for jobs,” said Roy Beck, executive director of Numbers USA, a group that favors reduced immigration. Mr. Beck predicted that Mr. Obama would face “an explosion” if he proceeded this year. and that “it’s going to be, ‘You’re letting them keep that job, when I could have that job,’ ” he said. 

But nothing this President does is rational.

Homeland Security Chief Chertoff Can’t Even Keep Illegals Out Of His Home

I find it absolutely hilarious that Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff had illegal aliens working for him inside his home.  This guy is suppose to protect our borders and he cannot even protect his front door.  The irony of this all is two-fold.  The first bit of irony is that Michael Chertoff, I am sure, does not leave his front door wide open when he leaves for work each morning, but our borders are left wide open by him.  Either way his protection stinks.  And the second bit of irony is that Chertoff promised to crack down on companies hiring illegal aliens over a year ago and here we find him hiring one of those companies.  So instead of cracking down on them, he was paying them.

But that is not the best part of this story.  The really great part is that the Secret Service has been checking the IDs of employees entering Chertoff’s home every few weeks for four years and yet these workers all sailed right through.  The main reason that they missed the immigration status of the workers is that the Secret Service only checked criminal records.  What a bunch of meatheads!  I would think immigration status would be pretty important when dealing with the Homeland Security boss.  But it just goes to show that the government really does not care at their core who is coming into this country, nor what those illegals are up to.  I’m pretty sure that entering this country illegally is still a crime, but I could be wrong when it comes to King George – that’s what I’m calling the President until he leaves office which cannot come soon enough.  I’m not sure who will end up worse for the country, King George or Dictator Obama.  I think they’ll both have the same effect. 

I’m sure hoping Janet Napalitano has checked out her cleaning ladies to make sure they are on the up and up, but with her border record I’m not holding my breathe.

California: A Case Study Against An Obama Presidency

So the liberals all want Barack Obama for president.  The brainwashed youth of America want Barack Obama for president.  And Californians want Barack Obama for president.  Based on the promises that Barack Obama has made and his voting record (however scant that may be) one can tell that Obama is not only a liberal, but a Marxist and will rule as such.  Yesterday, America got a wake-up call and they better heed it or face more of the same sweeping the country.  That wake-up call is a governor on his knees ready to beg the Treasury, “Please sir, could I have some more.”  Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger wrote a letter yesterday telling Secretary Paulson that the state of California was in dire straights, especially if the bailout bill was not passed.  Socialism won the day and the bailout bill was indeed passed.  But California may still need $7 billion from the government to cover day to day operations like paying teachers, police officers, funding nursing homes and every other state-funded service.  How did this happen?

On Fox News this morning, a correspondent mentioned that alot of Americans are learning more about their government due to the economic crisis.  One of those learned items is that states borrow money to run operations and with credit markets drying up, cities and states find themselves in real trouble.  I myself had no clue until yesterday and once again I find myself outraged.  What happens when a family runs their budget on just credit?  Doesn’t take long before that family is in real trouble.  How in the hell does a state think they can do that?  I guess I didn’t realize the depths to which this debt problem ran. 

So here we have a case study of what an Obama presidency will look like.  Today on the campaign trail, Obama is pounding away on McCain’s health plan.  He is still pushing his socialistic plan and had the audacity (sorry I just had to use that word) to say, “Some say how are we going to pay for this and I say how can we afford not to.”  This is a clear message that Obama plans to push his plans forward regardless of where the economy is in the future.  Thus the deficit will grow and since he promises to hack away at that, expect taxes to be implemented which will hit the middle class whether he aims them at us or not and cause huge job losses.  California has yet to adopt a state budget and so their spending is running rampant.  Obama in turn has a budget forecast, but there is no way to finance it and soon the government will find itself in the same place as California.

Another of California’s downfalls has been foreclosures which have resulted from numerous outside forces, two of which I want to focus on.  Number one is illegal immigration.  The Public Policy institute of California published a paper called “At Issue” in 2005 and it states, “Another economic incentive for migrating here is the lack of well developed financial markets in home countries.  Reportedly, in Mexico most households do not have adequate access to insurance, capital and credit markets.  Migration of some household members to the US is part of many families’ strategies to finance expensive purchases – even home ownership.”  California has more illegal aliens than any other state, 2.4 million in 2004 which rises 73,000 every year.  One of every fifteen residents is illegal.  California embraces them and even invites them and now they are paying for it.  Obama has the same attitude and the same ideas of “fairness” for all.  After all, he got his start with ACORN.

Which brings me to my second focus and that is on ACORN, Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now.  ACORN is the group that has forced banks and states to extend credit and services to illegal aliens and the less fortunate in the community who could never afford a home.  And California wonders why they have one of the highest foreclosure rates in the country, a rate that surged 327% in the first quarter of 2008.  And now California is looking for credit.   This is a circle with no end.  And Obama worked as an attorney and a community organizer for ACORN so one can assume he believes in its principles and from all his talk of “fairness” one can assume he will continue such practices.  As a matter of fact, all the liberals in Congress will continue to do what has crushed this economy.  And the centrists and neo-conservatives will follow along just as they did with this bailout bill.  No amount of hearings will wake up Nancy Pelosi and her buddies to the problems that caused this crisis.  They don’t want to dig and see all the real reasons because then they will have to either throw away their progressive ideology or throw away America.  I already know they will choose the latter because they are already doing it. 

The most we can hope for is that Congress will continue to be a do-nothing-Congress and that Obama won’t have the money to fund his work towards utopia.  And somebody better tell California to take a hike before a dangerous precedent is set here.

San Francisco Promotes It’s Sanctuary City Status

Just when you thought San Francisco couldn’t do anything more unAmerican or Liberal, they have decided to use the old public funds to target illegal immigrants – not for deportation, but to let them know they are welcome.  And as the video shows, they don’t hide their sanctuary status.  They declare it boldly.  Mayor Gavin Newsome says, “It’s the principled thing to do.”  What, spend taxpayers money on Public Service Announcements and more indoctrination in the public schools to promote the criminal activity taking place in this country every day?  Yeah, that’s the “principled” thing to do.  Hey all you illegals, listen up.  We have just the city for you – San Francisco.  Please pack up and rush there pronto!  We’ll see just how long the West Coast Liberal Loonies are able to stand it.

Amnesty Rears Its Ugly Head Again

We knew they would try it again in a more subtle way didn’t we?  This government is going to have amnesty, by God, whatever it takes.  Even if it means hurting our military in Iraq.  The Senate loaded up a new war funding bill that is due to be voted on today with earmarks that include work permits for immigrant farm labor (they must be illegal if they don’t already have permits) and heating subsidies for the poor.  Can anyone tell me what those two things have to do with funding the war and the troops?  And there are other little add-ons as well.  I am war weary too, but we can’t leave our troops and veterans out in the cold.  So Senators can either vote to fund the troops and give benefits to illegals or they can look like bad guys and vote the bill down.  Of course, I believe they should vote this down and immediately set up another emergency bill with NO EARMARKS!  Listen Washington, how many times do we have to tell you we are over your bloated pork bills?

The White House has threatened to veto if it passes and I hope President Bush sticks to that.  If he doesn’t then 1.4 million illegal immigrant workers will be allowed to stay up to five years to ease what is described as a shortage of farm workers.  Supposedly crops are rotting in the fields.  I don’t believe that for a second.  Call your leaders in Washington and let them know that this is an outrage and must stop! 

Colorado Representative Douglas Bruce and the Illiterate Peasants

Yesterday a debate took place in the Colorado General Assembly over a bill that would establish a pilot program to expediate temporary visas for seasonal farmer workers.  The chair of the debate was Democrat Kathleen Curry and she ordered Republican Douglas Bruce to leave the podium without being allowed freedom of speech.  Here is the transcript:

Rep. Douglas Bruce clashed with House floor Chairwoman Rep. Kathleen Curry as he criticized fellow Republican Marsha Looper’s bill to expedite visas for foreign seasonal workers to ease a farm labor shortage.

* It began with Bruce’s sarcastic comments about a shortage of immigrant workers.

Bruce: Every time I go to Wal-Mart, practically, I have constituents approach me . . . They say, ‘Doug, you have to do something about immigration. The lines are too short at hospital emergency rooms. My children don’t hear enough foreign languages in the classroom or during recess.’

Curry: Rep. Bruce, this bill has to do with . . .

Bruce: With aliens coming . . .

Curry: . . . Don’t argue with the chair. The bill has to do with the labor issues identified and the pilot program. We do not need an entire explanation of how you feel about immigration. I want you to focus on the bill or I won’t recognize you further.

Bruce: You’re asking me to leave?

Curry: I said focus on the bill or I won’t recognize you further. You have the opportunity to speak to the bill right here and now.

Bruce: Well, Madame Chair, I read the bill word for word and I thought it was about importing up to 5,000 additional aliens into this country over a five-year period. If I misread the bill, then I apologize.

Looper: Rep. Bruce, as I stated earlier, this is a pilot program. This is not about aliens. This is not about immigration. This is about facilitating and allowing (state agencies) to work on getting legal, seasonal non-immigrant workers to Colorado to help us with our harvest and to ensure that they return to their country of origin.

* Bruce continues to insist that importing workers from countries like Mexico is immigration, implying they could stay in the U.S. illegally.

Bruce: I would like to have the opportunity to state at the microphone why I don’t think we need 5,000 more illiterate peasants in Colorado.

Curry: Rep. Bruce, you are no longer recognized in the well . . . How dare you?

Notice that the woman who introduced the bill, Looper, tries to claim this isn’t about aliens or immigration?  When someone comes from another country to work here, what exactly is that if not immigration.  You can’t bullshit me.  This is another one of those bills to get around our established, but unenforced immigration laws to make it easier for them to come.  And give me a break over Rep. Curry’s indignation!  Once again we find a liberal trying to take away a right given to us by our Constitution and Bill of Rights.  All Rep. Bruce did was reveal the truth.  He said, “If I’m the only person in this building that cares about the truth, fine.”  Bruce also said that his description is factually accurate and I have to agree.  The words are harsh, but people need to wake up to what we are importing.  Another liberal representative, Terrance Carroll, called Bruce a bigot.  Those liberals just love to throw around their labels.  I get at least one a week myself.

Rep. Douglas Bruce has been a source of irritation to not only the Democrats, but also the Colorado Republicans.  They like to think of him as the ugly step brother nobody claims.  Bruce is very similar to Ron Paul in fighting for the Constitution.  His main cause in Colorado has been to get rid of emergency clauses in bills.  These types of clauses have been attached to 30,000 bills over the past 75 years allowing the bills to take immediate effect and making them immune to repeal by citizen ballot initiative.  Anything that takes away our right as the people to have a say is unconstititutional!

From listening to the local radio in Colorado and viewing some polls taken by KHOW radio and the Rocky Mountain News it is obvious to me that most people side with Rep. Bruce and I am one of them.

 

Another Illegal Alien Assault On Law Enforcement

Last year I lived in Colorado and watched first hand the story of Officer Donny Young.  It was a story that got national attention because Officer Young was shot and killed by an illegal alien by the name of Raul Gomez-Garcia who ran across the border to Mexico.  In order to get this piece of excrement back, America had to agree not to kill him.  I had several good friends who rode in a motorcycle run to get donations for Officer Young’s family.  I know that this is only one of many stories across the nation.  In fact, now that I have moved here to Florida I heard about a similar incident in the county where I reside that fortunately ended better for the officer involved.

An officer here was responding to a complaint over the weekend about a raucous party.  Upon reaching the location he found his squad car under assault from smashing beer bottles.  After a short foot pursuit, the officer had the assailant in hand only to be kicked and punched shortly thereafter by an angry mob.  A beer bottle was broken over his head and there were several attempts to get his gun away from him.  I assume the angry mob meant to kill the officer who was just doing his duty.  Thankfully back-up showed up and the officer only ended up in the hospital rather than the morgue.  The initial assailant was arrested and four others were handed over to the Border Patrol because they were illegal aliens.  Twelve others are still being sought.

I have been called everything from a racist to a zenophobe because of my stand on illegal aliens.  Those who throw these names around and go on to say what good workers and good people these illegals are forget one thing.  An obvious disrespect for one law leads to a disrespect of all the laws.  Those who want to enforce the laws get the brunt of this whether they are the police or border patrol.  I’m sure many of the illegals who come here are just looking for a better life, but that does not cover over the fact that they are stealing jobs from America, stealing money whether it be welfare or disability or unpaid hospital bills, stealing services from hospitals or State and Federal Human Services, stealing educations for their children and the list goes on.  These people don’t pay their income taxes – in order to do that, they would have to steal someone’s identity (which many do).  

Something has got to be done.  Our government has tied the hands of the men and women who are the ones who could do something, but instead are left to fend for themselves.  None of the presidential candidates will do anything either, other than give these lawbreakers the ability to become one of us.  How many countless other immigrants have waited and waited who would benefit our country and yet they will get nothing.  Only if you sneak over can you be rewarded.  You get more of what you reward.  This country needs to:

1. Fine all employers of illegal immigrants
2. Have a one year moritorium on all immigration
3. Build an Israeli style fence on the Mexico border
4. Any illegal that is caught is immediately shipped home at Mexico’s expense
5. Fine all people/companies that provide housing for illegals
6. Fine any money transfer company that wires money to Mexico
7. Fine any bank that provides any service to illegals
8. No services except emergency care – and it better be an EMERGENCY

 If no jobs are here, there is no ability to use the money earned, there are no services provided and they are made to feel completely unwelcome, the illegals will start to go home.  Then we can revamp our immigration policies that will make it easier for people to immigrate to America who can jump through certain hoops, ie: no criminal record and they can do something that is of benefit to America.  True amnesty can be implemented again as well. 

If we continue down our same road though, we will lose this country as it collapses from within.  We also have no idea how many terrorists are sitting here waiting to wake-up from their “sleep” and they will continue to infiltrate our country as we just let them pass right on through.  A Constititution doesn’t mean much if you don’t know what it says or care what it says for that matter.

The Merida Initiative

I’m betting most Americans have never heard about this Initiative and there is a reason.  It is another secret, backdoor arrangement that President Bush and the Administration have taken part in with Mexico.  This initiative is a funded project tucked into the 2008 supplemental budget to the tune of $1.4 billion dollars.  What is this initiative exactly?  It basically is a plan to help Mexico seal up their southern border with Central America to keep out drugs, gangs and crime.  The first phase includes $550 million dollars in aid for inspection scanners, helicopters, surveillance tools and case management software.  This was all implemented without any inpute from the Legislature.  No Republican has stood up against this and only a few Democrats have opposed it.

President Bush on March 12, 2007 said in regards to the Merida Initiative:  “Our countries are working together to fight transnational gangs.  And the President (Berger) was right – I suggested we think about this issue regionally.  You’ve got to understand that these gangs are able to move throughout Central America and up through Mexico into our own country, and therefore, we’ve got to think regionally and act regionally.”  WHAT!?  This Adminstration (and the rest of the government) refuse to do anything about our border with Mexico whether it be building a fence and adding to or funding the Border Patrol and yet they want to spend billions to seal up Mexico’s southern border.  Is it any wonder that this is being kept a secret?
