Just In Time For Halloween, House Unveils New Health Bill

pelosiHalloween is Saturday and the House of Representatives has contributed to the fright fest by unveiling their new and improved – GAG – healthcare bill.  PlastiGirl announced the bill before an invite-only group of people and no, that was not a mask, that is her real face.  House Democrats blocked the public from attending the unveiling ceremony and allowed only special guests that included Hill staffers, union workers, healthcare providers and students.  The bill weighed in at a terrifying 1,990 pages and 400,000 words.  And the idea of reading the following passages from the bill is truly horrifying:

“(a) Outpatient Hospitals – (1) In General – Section 1833(t)(3)(C)(iv) of the Social Security Act (42 U.S.C. 1395(t)(3)(C)(iv)) is amended – (A) in the first sentence – (i) by inserting “(which is subject to the productivity adjustment described in subclause (II) of such section)” after “1886(b)(3)(B)(iii); and (ii) by inserting “(but not below 0)” after “reduced”; and (B) in the second sentence, by inserting “and which is subject, beginning with 2010 to the productivity adjustment described in section 1886(b)(3)(B)(iii)(II)”.

It is alarming to think that it could easily take a week for lawmakers to read through this bill and that most of them will not bother.  And they only have a week to read it because PlastiGirl wants to vote on this freakish bill next week.  Words like “taxes” and “death” are all over this bill, which is bloodcurdling to a middle class business owner like myself who knows that those taxes will fall to me eventually.  We do not have enough filthy, evil rich people to pay for this monstrosity.  The CBO said this bill will cost $1.055 trillion, but have some of that cost offset by fines on businesses and individuals who do not buy insurance coverage.  Are people paying attention to this?  This is more frightening than the movie “Paranormal Activity”.  The government will mandate what you have to do in your private life and punish you for not doing it.

Put on your jackboots for Halloween everyone!

Mark Olsen, Author Of “Animal Colony” On Show Today

MarkOlsenBTR

Mark Olsen joins me in the first hour to discuss his book “Animal Colony”. Conservatives like Mike Huckabee and Bobby Jindal are reading it! We will discuss why he remade a classic like ANIMAL FARM in the first place, whether or not the U.S. is actually on the brink of socialism, how the government, doctors, and drug companies are failing to fulfill their duties, how current federal exercise recommendations are ineffective, how sick care entitlements are driving us to bankruptcy and how the diet industry is scamming consumers.

Mark Olsen is a screenwriter, author of four solo novels and writer of four collaborative novels including the bestselling biblical thriller Hadassah, which was adapted into the Twentieth-Century Fox motion picture One Night with the King. His credits also include co-writing the MGM film Music Within, and the Bethany House novels Hadassah Covenant, Rescued, The Assignment, The Watchers, The Warriors, The Long Road Home and Ulterior Motives. Mark is the son of Baptist pastors and missionaries to France and a graduate of Baylor University in Professional Writing.  He co-authored this book with Dr. Thomas A. Rexroth.

Join us for a fascinating discussion.  Check out the book at their website.

Reid Pushes Government-Controlled Healthcare

Despite months of outcry from the public that we do not want government-controlled healthcare and sinking poll numbers, Senator Harry Reid has decided to go forward with the public option with a state opt out feature.  He has decided that the trigger idea that is supported by Republican Olympia Snowe will not be a part of the plan crafted by the Senate.

Reid claimed that this is the “fairest way to go” and that “we are going to have to move forward on this.”  Between 56 and 57 Senators support this idea and so Reid still does not have the votes needed to pass the measure.  So we can safely assume that he is planning to pull the reconciliation process, which means he only needs 51 Senators on board.  They have promised to cram this down our throats and apparently, that is exactly what they will be doing.

Murtha Reveals New Way Of Counting Votes

For my Democrat friends out there – do you really want to continue to be represented by these morons like Pelosi, Reid, Rangel, Frank and Murtha?  This video is so revealing of the absurdity that has now become the norm in Washington DC:

Cap And Trade Losing Ground Internationally

We are continuing to win in this climate change battle that has morphed in the past decade from a few scientists touting junk science and a panicked Al Gore to a full-fledged false world crisis that has promised to destroy economies – mainly the United States economy – and gather everyone under a global government.  But awakened Americans have put the stops on any form of Crap & Tax here in America, stalling legislation in the Senate.  And apparently movement on the world stage is coming to a halt as well.  There have been fears raised in regards to the planned Global Climate Summit scheduled in December in Copenhagen.  Rumors are swirling that the Climate Change Bill contains language that includes all countries signing off under a global government.  Americans have believed that President Obama would gladly sign off our country’s sovereignty under the bill, but it would appear that is not the case.

On December 10th, President Obama will be in Oslo to accept his unwarranted Nobel Peace Prize.  This means that he will not be in Copenhagen, for sure, during part of the summit.  And the UK’s Times Online is reporting that the President has no plans to be in Copenhagen for the summit at all.  The President does not feel that a firm bill will be in place and he realizes that he wields no power over countries like China and will not be able to get them to reign in their carbon output.  If these developing countries are not on board, then America cannot be on board.  I imagine the flaming left everywhere is fuming over this continuation of Bush policy.  The President must hate the planet, right?  Shall I call this broken promise 1,789?

Here is what The Times Online is reporting:

Chinese and Indian resistance to mandatory carbon emission limits has so far proved an insurmountable obstacle to crafting a successor to the Kyoto Protocol that is acceptable to the US. America has also slowed the process through its reluctance to accept climate change science or the carbon cap-and-trade mechanism to combat global warming.

Only 57 per cent of Americans believe that there is strong evidence that the world has grown warmer in recent decades, down from 71 per cent a year ago, according to a new poll. Partly as a result, the White House is having to wage a vote-by-vote battle in Congress for a climate change Bill that would embrace cap-and-trade. The Bill will not be signed into law until next year at the earliest but is considered essential for any global deal.

There are times when it feels like we are not making headway, but it would appear that climate change legislation is going to go absolutely nowhere!  And the world will observe Obama on center stage gloating about his greatness and grabbing his prize, while he snubs the rest of them.  Perhaps they will finally realize who Obama truly is at his core.

Net Neutrality Gains Ground

The federal government does not feel it has enough control yet as it absorbs banks, businesses, healthcare and the like and so it is now going after the internet.  Conservatives like myself have been warning for months about the Fairness Doctrine, which would utterly destroy the radio talk show business.  This is basically legislation that would give the government the ability to decide who runs and owns radio stations and thus, what types of programs can be aired on radio.  Our warnings worked and the government backed away from the Fairness Doctrine, but as we all know, these policies do not go away, they just morph into something else.  Net Neutrality is one of those morphed policies.

The Wall Street Journal is reporting:

As phone and video services have migrated online, the FCC has struggled to stretch its authority over new technologies. The FCC’s net neutrality proposal, driven by Chairman Julius Genachowski, is the strongest move yet by the federal government to assert control over the rules of the road on the Internet.

Google and AT&T have been embroiled in a battle over the net neutrality proposal, which gained ground last week when FCC Commissioners unanimously voted to move forward net neutrality and will be manipulated in the coming weeks into a policy that will be crammed down the throats of internet users and providers.  This is a forerunner to government control of the internet.  Keep in mind that the President has already granted himself emergency control over the internet and has a Cyber Czar to police the internet.  These net neutrality rules will enforce that power.

Google supports net neutrality because it gives them farther reach.  High speed internet will have to be provided to all areas of America and internet services will be unable to block anything on the internet, specifically Google.  Google, incidentally blocks whatever it pleases or works against conservative websites like Atlas Shrugs.  Google is also in bed with GE, which puts them in bed with the Obama administration.

The Wall Street Journal also reports:

AT&T and other Internet-access providers want latitude to manage traffic on congested wireless networks and freedom to devote a chunk of their wired networks to selling more expensive services. Internet providers are worried regulators are assuming veto power over their efforts to develop new revenue streams from their Internet lines.

Google and other Internet companies fret that phone and cable companies will hobble their efforts to offer competing services online or will try charging them more for better connections to consumers.

Google wants phone and cable companies to deliver all traffic equally, so carriers can’t get in the way of it offering consumers high-definition TV shows or movies on YouTube or phone services like Google Voice.

This would all be a great idea if not for the fact that the government is getting involved.  And anyone paying attention to the FCC knows that its new head thinks Hugo Chavez is great and applauds his revolution.  The FCC also has a board where Democrats outnumber Republicans.  The Progressives are slowly powergrabbing everything they can and we need to wake up and fight it to save our freedom.

Sarah Palin Not As Rogue As She Claims

Sarah Palin’s biography, Going Rogue, is slated for release in November.  The book is already outselling all other books in pre-sales and breaking records.  But one has to question just how rogue Sarah Palin is with the announcement that she will appear on the Oprah Winfrey show on November 16th.  My libertarian balloon just deflated!  Going on Oprah is what all book hawkers do.  Obviously, appearing exclusively palinon Oprah means huge book sales, but Sarah obviously does not need the appearance.  The pre-sales are proof of that.  So why go into the hornets nest?  Does she want to get stung?  My God, Oprah was out on the campaign trail for Obama!

I seem to remember a time when Oprah balked at her staffs appeals to have Palin on the show during the campaign.  And then I also recall that Palin snubbed Oprah about doing an interview.  I love capitalism and think Palin should be able to make boatloads of money on her book, but is she not selling out by going on Oprah.  Some might claim that Palin is using Oprah to boost herself, but it appears more to me to be about money and publicity.

I was a huge supporter of Palin, but when she quit as Governor of Alaska I started to re-access my support of her.  This appearance on Oprah has me wondering once again.  One thing is for certain, Palin is a great money maker for the GOP and a great spokesperson for conservatives, but she will never be able to run for President.

Illegal Alien Costume Does Not Offend Me

Criminal invaders crossing into my country offends me.  A costume that is a parody on the term “illegal alien” does not offend me.Illegalcostume The costume comes as depicted in the picture with an orange jumpsuit and a green card.  It has caused a great deal of controversy and stores like Target are pulling it from their websites.  Several immigrant advocate groups are calling on other stores to do likewise.  One woman who represents an immigration rights group in LA said, “It’s distasteful, mean-spirited and ignorant of social stigmas and current debate on immigration reform.”  My irreverent sense of humor says that this costume does no such thing.

The current debate is over whether this country should make the repeated mistake of granting these criminal invaders amnesty.  Our country has done it before and it has lead to utter failure.  President Reagan claimed that his signing off on amnesty while he was in office was one of his greatest mistakes.  True immigration reform never took place and now we have millions of illegals streaming across our borders bringing disease and crime, while quality people seeking to immigrate to America are left waiting for years.  There is no doubt that the immigration system is broken, but amnesty is not the answer.

These illegals need to grab a costume and head back to where they came from because if I had my way, that orange jumpsuit would be their real attire and they would no longer be contributing to the construction of substandard buildings, roads and committing crimes while living off Americans, they would be in jail waiting to get shipped back home.

Oprah On Copenhagen

Today I happened to catch the first part of the Oprah Winfrey Show.  No, I did not choose to watch Oprah, it was on in the same room as myself.  Anyway, Oprah hosted a show on various countries and Denmark was one of those countries, specifically Copenhagen.  She must have filmed it while she was there to promote the Olympics.  She did mention that things did not go well in the case of the Olympics.  I laughed out loud.

The main focus was that Denmark is considered by researchers to have the most happy population on earth.  The idea seems to be that the people are taken care of by the government, so they have nothing to worry about.  Oprah interviewed a woman who explained that if she loses her job, the government will help her find a new one and pay her up to four years of unemployment insurance.  University education is not only provided for free, but students are paid to attend school.  People pick their occupations based on interest rather than the amount of money they will earn because everybody earns equal pay.  Healthcare is free as well.  The woman gave a tour of her home that was cramped.  Three children share one room.  Marriage is no big deal in Denmark and so there is no pressure there.  Several Danish women told Oprah that they do not believe in any Higher Power and that most Danes have the same lack of belief.

As a freedom-loving American, i found myself wondering how anyone could be happy under a socialistic rule like this where everyone is treated as an equal even when equal effort is not given.  How can one be happy when they have no way to measure success?  How can one be happy when they are not rewarded according to effort?  The Danish women maintained that they lived under a Democracy and not socialism.  I clear example of how wonderful their free education has been.  It is not until halfway through the interview that the woman being interviewed admits that taxes are 50%.  Some free healthcare and education, eh?  This is the way all of these countries work.  They claim to get services for free even though they are paying immense taxes.  The Danish woman claimed that she did not mind the 50% in taxes.  I certainly would not be happy paying half of my hard earned money to the government.

I would be interested in knowing who exactly are the researchers that came up with the result that the Danes are the most happy.  I bet they were from Berkley or perhaps Columbia University.
