Obama Administration’s Identity Politics And Racism

Remember the above scene from November 2nd, 2009?  Two members of the New Black Panther Party stood outside of a Philly polling place and intimidated, coerced, racially slurred and promised the “crackers” they would soon be ruled by the black man.  One of the men stood with a night stick in his hand and both men were dressed in the regalia of the Black Panthers down to the jackboots.  The scene was witnessed by several people and the Bush administration brought charges against the New Black Panther Party and both of these men.

Now Attorney General Eric Holder, a black man, has dropped the charges because they did not feel the case was important enough to prosecute.  This is despite the fact that none of the parties charged in the case showed up for the hearings meaning they would have been found guilty with no trouble.  The Department of Justice only served the man wielding the night stick with an injunction to prevent him from doing this same thing in the future.  So we have a half-black man and a black man protecting the New Black Panthers; a racist organization who supported the Obama campaign and even had their moniker appear on Obama’s campaign website until the campaign was called on it.  A screen capture can be found on the Sweetness & Light blog here.

So we have an Obama administration that promised to transcend race dropping these charges and nominating a Supreme Court Justice nominee because she is a Hispanic woman.  Sounds like the only race that is being transcended is the Caucasian race.  Promise number 1,567 broken.

President Obama Declares, “You Ain’t See Nothing Yet.”

President Barack Obama declared, “You ain’t seen nothing yet,” at a glitzy Hollywood fundraiser on Wednesday evening.  That scares me to my core because what we have watched unfurl over the last four months has wrapped this country in chains of debt, regulation and control.  The President in his arrogance said, “[He] would put these first four months up against any prior administration since FDR.”  Although I would agree that the Obama administration has brought about many changes to America, that is not necessarily positive.

Although the President now has in place a large number of Czars running all facets of government control that answer to no one but him, and even though he now runs banks and car companies, and despite the fact that he will soon control the temperatures of our homes, what and how much we eat, how often and what we drive, what kinds of education our children receive, who gets medical care and even though he will be forcing most of the population into voluntary servitude, he says that he is “not satisfied” and “I’m confident in the future, but I’m not yet content.”

He will not be content until this country is completely beholden to another Superpower known as China presently.  He will not be satisfied until he runs every industry in America.  He will not stop until he has “changed” America forever and buried the Constitution permanently.  It amazes me that anyone can still feel hope and be positive about the President and America’s future when they watch him bow to our enemies, flounder when threatened, stumble when not given the words he is to speak via TOTUS and piles on deficits we have no hope of paying for generations to come even as he informs the country that we “are out of money.”

For those who believed the lies that he would cut your taxes, you better prepare yourselves.  He has already hit many of you with the cigarette tax.  The energy and sugar taxes are soon to follow.  Hidden taxes that will accumulate in the process of manufacturing or importing products will be added to everything you purchase.  And eventually your income taxes will rise because he will have no choice because someone has to pay for all his promises of “free” stuff.

The President is right I suppose that he has bettered every president before him when it comes to wrapping us in bondage.  So when he promises that we “ain’t seen nothing yet, ” I feel as though I am in a waking nightmare.

Sonia Sotomayor Is A Racist

Progressives everywhere feign indignation over the obvious fact being stated by conservatives that President Obama’s Supreme Court Justice nominee, Sonia Sotomayor, is a racist as revealed by many of her statements and rulings throughout the years,  Only those who are intellectually dishonest could deny such a claim.  Tom Tancredo, who has endured the label of “racist” for years, was one of the few GOP members to be audacious enough to speak the truth:

The left can deny the facts all they want, but they cannot explain away statements that Sotomayor has made like this one, “Whether born from experience or inherent physiological or cultural differences … our gender and national origins may and will make a difference in our judging. … I would hope that a wise Latina woman with the richness of her experiences would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a white male who hasn’t lived that life.”  So a Latina woman would give better rulings than a white man according to Sotomayor.  If the tables were turned, Latinos would be crying, “Racist!”  And keep in mind that this statement was made at a gathering of  La Raza Law Journal.  La Raza is a racist group whose name translates as “The Race” with an air of superiority.

Rush Limbaugh and Newt Gingrich have both referred to Sotomayor as racist.  Gingrich tweeted: ”Imagine a judicial nominee said ‘my experience as a white man makes me better than a latina woman.’  New racism is no better than old racism.  White man racist nominee would be forced to withdraw. Latina woman racist should also withdraw.”

In a famous ruling that is coming before the Supreme Court – interesting that President Obama did not mention this and instead chose to speak about Sotomayor’s baseball ruling – Sotomayor joined an unsigned opinion rejecting a lawsuit from a group of firefighters in Ricci v. Destefano.  She chose to not even deliberate in the lawsuit.  This lawsuit was filed on behalf of white firefighters who claimed reverse discrimination and that their civil rights were violated when results from a test that they passed were invalidated because not enough minorities passed the test to be promoted – only one Hispanic firefighter passed.  The lead plaintiff, Frank Ricci, battled dyslexia and spent months studying for the test, which he passed, but because no African-American firefighters passed he was denied a promotion. Second Circuit Judge Jose Cabranes, a Clinton appointment and liberal, wrote after hearing that Sotomayor rejected the case: “The opinion contains no reference whatsoever to the constitutional claims at the core of this case. This perfunctory disposition rests uneasily with the weighty issues presented by this appeal.”

Being a racist should be enough to keep someone off the Supreme Court bench, but even worse than this is the fact that Sotomayor believes that the Judicial Branch has the ability to legislate from the bench.  She even stated coyly during a speech that the Appeals Courts “create policy” and then quickly tried to cover herself by saying she should not say that since she was being taped.  As a Supreme Court Justice, she will be required to uphold the Constitution and our rights guaranteed in the Bill of Rights, but in a Second Amendment battle in Maloney v. Cuomo, Sotomayor joined an opinion holding that “it is settled law” that the Second Amendment only limits federal, and not state, gun control laws.  Thus she believes that states can take away gun rights.

This woman must come under heavy scrutiny from the GOP!  They must not back away fearing that they might be tagged as racist and lose the Hispanic vote if they fight this nomination.  This is the battleground and this is the time.  Jeff Sessions gave a lukewarm statement that they would be thorough with Sotomayor, but he sounded weak and timid.  The GOP needs to start echoing the leaders outside of Congress like Limbaugh and Gingrich and fight for our Constitution!

Diplomacy Sure Seems To Be The Answer

President Obama promised throughout his campaign to use diplomacy to deal with America’s enemies.  Whenever the United Nations has used diplomacy and sanctions they have not worked, but this has not deterred the President and he has decided that this type of foreign policy is the approach to use.  So far the policy appears to be working splendidly.  Unless North Korea testing four missiles in the space of a month and half worries anyone.  And unless Iran continuing to work towards a nuclear bomb makes people uncomfortable.

The President of Iran, Ineedajob, has challenged the paper tiger that is our leader to a debate at the United Nations.  In years past, he had issued the same challenge to President Bush and it went ignored.  But President Obama has indicated that he would like to sit down and talk with our enemy in Iran, so his rejection of this challenge would call into question whether he really wanted to go forward with diplomacy via talks.  To save face, the President would have to take up the challenge.  Personally, I hope he does not because the Teleprompter will not be able to plan for every possible scenario or question from the insane mind of Ineedajob.  The President will be revealed as hot air.

Yesterday, North Korea successfully tested a nuclear weapon as powerful as the one that America fired on Hiroshima destroying it during World War II.  The UN Security Council quickly condemned the test.  As always happens when the UN tries such diplomacy as strongly worded condemnations, this one went ignored and North Korea  fired two short-range missiles off its east coast today.  The UN Security Council will begin behind-the-scenes negotiations today to attempt to strengthen sanctions against North Korea.  Sanctions have been used unsuccessfully for years.

The most troubling aspect in all of the activity surrounding Iran and North Korea is the fact that America is utterly powerless to do anything.  And we have put ourselves in this predicament.  We need China to play hard ball with both of these countries because they supply these countries and will not participate in sanctions.  We cannot threaten China to participate because we are just as beholden as the rest of the world to China.  While we have “slumbered”, China has become the new Superpower owning most of the world’s debt and housing most of the world’s businesses.  If China decides to let Iran and North Korea continue to build their nuclear capabilities, there is nothing we can do and we will be entering a new era of fear like nothing we have ever known.

This does not fall squarely on President Obama’s shoulders.  Throughout the years, each and every one of our leaders since Reagan has allowed this drama to unfold.  President Obama just seems to have accelerated the actions of North Korea and Iran because they have absolutely no fear or respect for him.  And the deficits that this President has now burdened us with will continue to cripple our country.  So diplomacy certainly seems to be the answer since we have no other options.

The GOP Should Pay Attention To Libertarians

Lindsey Graham does not speak for the GOP, but his attitude seems to be prevalent in the Republican Party.  And Graham is wrong as wrong can be and the GOP would do well to turn to the Libertarian Party for some ideas on how to save this country.  But Graham is more intent on the one thing that destroys not only parties, but individuals as well and that is the need to win at any cost.  Giving up principles and values should take priority over winning.  The GOP held Senator John McCain up and have had held up other left leaning Republicans because they think that is the way to win.  And Graham is one of those RINOs, so really this tape is no surprise.

Perhaps we should look to other leaders and discover what they have had to say about Libertarianism.  South Carolina’s Governor Mark Sanford has said, “Liberty is the hallmark of the American experiment.  That is the distinguishing characteristic of our Republic, and frankly what’s made it great…I’ve been accused of being a Libertarian and I would say I wear it as a badge of honor because I do love, believe in, and want to support liberty.”

I echo Senator Jim DeMint when he says, “[I] would rather have 30 Republicans who believe in the principles of limited government and free markets and free people than 60 Republicans who have no beliefs at all.”

And Ronald Reagan said it all when he said, “I have been doing my best to try to revitalize the Republican Party groups that I’ve spoken to, on the basis that the time has come to repudiate those in our midst who would blur the Republican image by saying we should be all things to all people in order to triumph…I’ve been urging Republicans to raise a banner and put the things we stand for on that banner and don’t compromise, but don’t try to enlarge the party by being all things to everyone when you can’t keep all the promises.  Put up a banner and then count on the fact that if you’ve got the proper things on that banner the people will rally round.”  And people did rally behind Reagan.  He was a true leader which is what this country has been needing since he left office.  He also said, “If you analyze it, I believe the very heart and soul of conservativism is libertarianism.”

We should want to win because we do not want socialism to have such free reign, but at the cost of the Constitutional principles upon which this country was built is not worth the win.  The RINOs need to step back into the shadows of the GOP unless the Republican Party wants to continue to shrink as those who claim to be “independent” continues to grow.

Memorial Day Tribute 2009

The Conservative Alliance Media Network put together this tribute to our wonderful military members to honor those who currently serve, the veterans who have served and to those who made the ultimate sacrifice on our behalf to maintain the freedom we enjoy today.  The man and woman in the middle of the video are my grandparents.  Yep, my Grandmother wore combat boots!  She served in the Marines as a radio operator during World War II.  Thank you to all of you brave men and women.  You are the reason why patriots like myself are able to fight the socialism sweeping across this country threatening the freedoms we hold dear and you all give us hope that we will win in the end.

The Congressional Circus

The building that should presently house the House of Representatives and the Senate has now become a circus tent covering over a band of buffoons, contortionists and performers.  The Speaker of the House, who is third in line to the presidency, performs acrobatics regularly as she tries to convince the country that the CIA lies about everything and that she is clueless when it comes to interrogation techniques.  Yesterday she performed her regular act before the media at her regular weekly press conference.  She brought along several other Democrat clowns to catch her if she fell.  Deflection seemed to be the word of the day for the Madame Speaker.

There was an outcry across this country when it was revealed that our representatives no longer read the bills that they are required to vote on and when the Republicans demanded that the new energy bill, which is really cap and trade legislation, be read aloud in full before the Energy and Commerce Committee, the Democrats hired a speed reader to handle the task.  This young man promised that he could read one page every 34 seconds which meant it would take only nine hours for him to read the entire bill.  The exercise was begun much to the merriment of Henry Waxman who sponsored the bill, but was never fully completed.

And finally there is Barney Frank who was asked by a Fox News representative if he would call for an investigation of ACORN.  He quickly pointed back to George Bush whose administration had also funded ACORN and commented that no one said that there was any misuse of funds at that time.  When pressed, he quipped that Fox was being very unfair to Bush.  And thus Frank’s high wire act ended.  I know the image of Barney Frank in colorful tights balancing on a thin wire over your head is sickening, but I call them like I see them.

So our Congress is now a three-ring circus and no one really is surprised since we have known for years that Washington D.C. is run by a bunch of clowns.

Obama Pledges To Protect The Navy?

President Barack Obama gave an address today to the graduating midshipmen at the U.S. Naval Academy today.  The main theme of the speech came in this pledge, “I will only send you into harm’s way when it is absolutely necessary, and with the strategy, the well-defined goals, the equipment and the support that you need to get the job done.”   What does this mean?  Is the President actually suggesting that previous presidents have sent troops into danger without a second thought or regard for their safety?  That would be my interpretation.  The President plans on slashing defense spending, so I find myself wondering how Obama expects to pay for the equipment he is promising these Naval graduates.  He did guarantee that he would not slash the Navy’s budget…anymore.

The President continued, “The extraordinary precision and professionalism displayed that day was made possible, in no small measure, by the training, the discipline and the leadership skills that so many of those officers learned at the United States Naval Academy,” referring to the Navy Seals’ victory over Somali pirates.

“In short, we will maintain America’s military dominance and keep you the finest fighting force the world has ever seen,” Obama claimed, but does anyone believe that.  The only reason he attends these graduations and gives the commencement speeches at our military installations is because he has no choice as Commander-in-Chief.  I believe he respects the military more than former president Clinton and does not harbor the same disdain, but he is most certainly no military supporter.

The irony of this address is that the President gave a speech yesterday on national defense in which he ridiculed the tactics of the former administration and indicated that he would like to return to a pre-9/11 form of thinking when it comes to defense, otherwise he would just be “fearmongering” which is what he seems to believe the Bush administration was all about, although our country was not attacked on our soil again after 9/11.  Our military now has their hands tied when it comes to interrogations and how to go about capturing enemy combatants – or those people who partake in man-made disasters.

I wonder what these graduates think about President Obama’s promise to close Gitmo and his suggestions that this state of the art military installation is leading to terrorist recruitment.  I wonder what they think about that community organizer mind of Obama’s that believes America just wants to occupy countries and use our military might to overpower other countries?

Cheney Versus Obama On National Security

I am no shill for former Vice President Dick Cheney, but I would much rather have him in charge of national security than the disingenuous individual now living in the White House.  Both Dick Cheney and President Obama gave seperate and very different speeches today on national security.  Dick Cheney reminded the country that there is no middle ground and with the capture today of some terrorists in New York who were going to engage in an Overseas Contingency Operation – yeah I know, how can it be overseas?  I guess DHS better re-think their terminology – he is proved right.  All the diplomacy in the world is getting Obama nowhere and even now Iran is test firing rockets that can reach Israel.

President Obama claimed that our security is the first thing he thinks about when he wakes up.  And yet we no longer can use harsh interrogation techniques.  Obama also claimed that “we’re investing in the 21st century military and intelligence capabilities”, but how exactly are we going to pay for that since defense spending has been slashed?  Obama also plans to dismantle our plans for a missile defense shield.  The President had the audacity to say, “The documents that we hold in this very hall – the Declaration of independence, the Constitution, the Bill of Rights – these are not simply words written into aging parchment.  They are the foundation of liberty and justice in this country, and a light that shines for all who seek freedom, fairness, equality and dignity around the world.”  Those of us who do uphold the Founding Documents see through the President’s bullcrap.  Everything he has pushed forward so far and his other plans that he is laying the groundwork for are all anti-Constitution and our rights are under assault nearly daily.

Dick Cheney on the other hand pointed out that those who consider waterboarding torture engage in “contrived indignation and phony moralizing on the interrogation methods applied to a few captured terrorists.”  He criticized the Obama administration for releasing the interrogation memos which was “flatly contrary to the national security interest of the United States.”  Cheney finished his speech saying, “You can look at the facts and conclude the comprehensive strategy has worked, and therefore needs to be continued as vigilantly as ever.  Or you can look at the same set of facts and conclude that 9/11 was a one-off event – coordinated, devastating, but also unique and not sufficient to justlfy a sustained wartime effort.”

Unfortunately, our current leader appears to be a man holding to the latter conclusions.  He referred to the decisions made after 9/11 as “hasty” and based in “fear rather than foresight”.  The Bush administration must have had good foresight because we have not had another terrorist attack on our soil since 9/11.  Obama’s statements are shown to be disingenuous by the fact that no attack has occurred.  The President claimed that we must fight this war with the rule of law and due process.  Excuse me?  Terrorists do not live under our Constitution.  Yet again, this statement reveals a lack of understanding when it comes to the Founding Documents.  The President held to his promise to close Gitmo as well even though support from his own party is lacking and neither the House nor the Senate have agreed to fund the closing of the camp.  And what does this mean, “Now let me blunt.  There are no neat or easy answers here.  I wish there were.  But I can tell you that the wrong answer is to pretend like this problem will go away if we maintain an unsustainable status quo.”  What is that?  We have not been maintaining a status quo and the President’s inactions and hidden actions (the media chooses not to inform the public that this President has been dropping bombs on Pakistan for weeks) have not been making the world any more secure.

Iran is firing off rockets and making nuclear weapons, North Korea is testing long-range missiles, Russia and Venezuela have war gamed with their navies, the Taliban is on the march for nuclear weapons in Pakistan, violence is up in Iraq, Mexican drug cartels are still streaming across the border bringing their violence and terrorists are still plotting attacks on American soil.  Let me be clear, Mr. President, I do not feel more secure with you at the helm.

“The View” A Waste For Glenn Beck

Why did Glenn Beck make an appearance on “The View”?  He certainly does not need the exposure from that brainless, waste of air program.  Elizabeth Hasselbeck is the only shining light on the show and I cannot figure out why she bothers to stay other than the pay must be good.  Glenn Beck appeared on the show and as one can see from the video, it was a complete waste of time.  Whoopi spent almost seven whole minutes accusing Glenn of being a liar and carrying on like some high school chick that just found out the most popular kid in school will not take her to prom.  Nobody cares Whoopi – get a clue.  Do they put their Hollywood libtard guests on the hot seat like this and accuse them of lying and demand apologies?  Of course not.  They just rip into the O’Reillys, the Coulters and the Becks with their superiority elitist Hollywood schtick as if that is where most of the country dwells when it comes to ideology.  If it was not that Glenn has principles, than I am sure he would have ripped off his microphone after this first segment and left the show.  Nobody deserves to be treated like this when invited on as a guest.

You should be ashamed Barbara.  You have chosen co-hosts over the years that have denigrated the show and your judgement has been clouded by the same moonbattery that has left Hollywood insignificant in the eyes of real Americans.

Glenn’s response:
