Wake-Up Fellow Gays – Obama Used You!

I have been clamoring for years that the Democrat party has only used gay people to get elected into office and could really care less about the community.  After a Democrat gets into office, he/she throws the gay community under the bus.  And I sit back and watch as they get upset and wonder what went wrong and then continue the cycle over and over and over…I found just such a post today here.

When I visited Barack Obama’s campaign website and then later the whitehouse.gov website, I found paragraphs of actions the President planned to take to help the gay community.  Most gays I am sure were very excited, but I was not fooled.  I knew Obama had admitted he did not support gay marriage and I remembered that he was one of the few presidential candidates who did not show up for the LOGO debate.  LOGO is a cable channel with gay programming.  So it has come as no surprise to me that the whitehouse.gov website has erased most of their “gay friendly” material and replaced it with two sentences:

“President Obama also continues to support the Employment Non-Discrimination Act and believes that our anti-discrimination employment laws should be expanded to include sexual orientation and gender identity. He supports full civil unions and federal rights for LGBT couples and opposes a constitutional ban on same-sex marriage.”

Matt Algren who wrote the article I linked too concluded,  “Mr. President, I’m disappointed that you’ve decided your LGBT constituents are expendable. I’m frustrated that like you’ve stolen back the commitment you made before the vast majority of our community voted for you. I hope I’m wrong on this, but assuming this wasn’t some clerical error or something, I don’t see any other way to figure it.”

Matt, my message to you and the rest of my fellow gays is to wake up!  They have been doing this to us for years as well as every other minority.  I threw out my Democrat membership almost a decade ago after voting for Clinton twice and getting nowhere.  I realized that the true place I belonged was with Constitution-loving and freedom-loving Americans like conservatives.  I know the religious right-wing rejects gay people, but give the rest of the conservatives a chance.  You might be surprised.

Obama’s 100 Day Press Conference

I am live blogging the press conference, so refresh for updates.

The President is on and briefing on swine flu.  He pretends to read from podium while obviously reading the Teleprompter.

President claims he has saved or created 150,000 jobs – which is it?  It’s bull and we know it.  He glows about renewed diplomatic efforts.  Brags about closing Gitmo and ending torture.

Jennifer asks him about the swine flu and why we haven’t closed border and when we will close the border.  Obama blathers for five minutes, now six and gives no real answer other than they are being vigilante.  Obama reminds us to wash hands and cover our mouths when we cough.  Gee, thanks Mr. President.

Detroit News – asks about auto industry and if bankrupcy is only option for Chrysler.  Obama is “hopeful” that Chrysler will be viable and praises unions for all their sacrifices.  He is feeling optimistic.  With GM, they have another 30 days.  Obama thinks they will be competitive and would love to get government out of auto industry as soon as possible.  Yeah right!  His goal is to have a strong and viable auto industry.  Hardship ahead for workers and their families and federal government will provide as much assistance as needed.

Jake Tapper asks if previous administration sanctioned torture since Obama thinks waterboarding is torture.  He says, “Yes” and says we could have gotten information in other ways consistant with our values.  What those values are exactly I do not know, nor do I know what Obama’s ideas on torture really are because waterboarding is so far from torture it is unbelieveable this big deal has been made.  He claims we are safer in the long term.  At the same time, it takes away a recriutment tool for terrorists.  They don’t need recruitment tools, Mr. President.  We are Americans and that is all they need for recruitment.

Chuck Todd – Can Obama reassure America that we can protect Pakistan’s nuclear arsenal?  Obama is gravely concerned because the civilian government is very fragile.  He says we need to help Pakistanis.  Wants to recognize Pakistan’s sovereignty.

Question on change in policy to Iraq since violence seems to have escalated.  Obama said deaths remain low despite stories of bombings and the political system is holding.  This is why he wants a gradual withdrawal.

*snore*  Sorry I fell asleep.

Chip Reid asks about Arlen Specter’s jump and if this means there will be one party rule and what this says about Republicans.  Obama says he really respects Specter ( How could anyone knowing now that Specter is an unprincipled man?)  Obama says his vote for the Pork bill was very sensible.  He does realize that he does not have a rubber stamp for his desires because not all Democrats agree with him.  To his Republican friends, he wants them to realize his reaching out has been genuine – nothing Obama does is genuine.  What a joke!  He pleaded with Mitch McConnell that just because they don’t agree 100%, they shouldn’t reject Obama’s ideas all the time.  Obama has never accepted any ideas from the Republicans.

Obama is asked about his speaking engagement set for Notre Dame and how he feels about abortion and the Freedom of Choice Act.  Obama says abortion is a moral issue and an ethical issue.  He claims to be consistant and is pro-choice because women are in a better position to make the choice.  He had no problem making that choice about infanticide.  He wants to reduce the number of unwanted pregnancies.  He has a task force (of course) that is working with groups in pro-choice and pro-life camps for a concensus.  He believes women should have right to choose and thinks we should focus on areas where we agree to “tamp down” anger.

What has surprised, troubled, enchanted and humbled him the most in past 100 days?  Obama has to write down question and everyone laughs – ha ha, he’s such a funny guy.  He’s surprised at the number of things all coming to a head at once.  The thing that has troubled him is that change in Washington comes slow and that there is bickering and postering even in big crisises and wishes there were less games.  This coming from the prime game player.  He’s been enchanted by our service men and women and is profoundly proud of them and comments on what a great job they do and their loyalty/  Too bad he doesn’t really feel that way.  He has been humbled by the fact that the presidency is extraordinarily powerful, but just a part of the broader America.  He can’t just push a button and have the bankers do what he wants – but he sure has tried to be Dictator and sure seems to be running most everything.  Ten years, twenty years from now our kids will look back and point to this time being when we finally got serious about energy and healthcare, etc.  No, they will look back and wonder what was worth giving up our freedom and piling the debt on top of them.

Questions about immigration reform and McCain’s name comes up.  The President would like to partner with McCain on this.  President wants to move this process.  This keeps undocumented workers in the shadows.  Undocumented workers?!  He can’t say illegal!  He wants to lay groundwork so American people will have confidence and then he throws out Napalitano’s name and he comments on how she will be able to secure our borders because of her experience as a border Governor.  He doesn’t want to just run raids on companies.  Keeps talking about building our confidence.

Question on black unemployment rate, what policies will target these communities and when will we see results?  Obama wants us to keep in mind the government is helping everybody and mentions extending unemployment insurance.  College affordability and tax cuts for everybody but the poor should help black people live the American dream/

Time Magazine – What is Obama’s opinion on State Secrets?  Obama wants to modify State Secret Doctrine.  It is appropriate to say that national security is at stake and you can’t litigate without revealing things that would compromise our safety and they are searching for ways to redact to bring out information without it being in open court,

Last question – Obama is chief shareholder of housing companies and pretty soon auto companies so what is his role?  He says we should be looking to get out.  He doesn’t want to run car companies and banks and the sooner they can get out better.  Guess that is why they are taking the money back from the banks – oh wait, they are rejecting the repayments.  He believes America should have a functioning auto industry and doesn’t want them to have an umbilical cord, but restructuring is a good thing and that the government has been appropriate.  As soon as they are stable they will find some private buyers.  He doesn’t want to micromanage, but taxpayers need to know what is going on with their money.  He says he is not an auto engineer – that’s for sure, but he still wants them to do what he wants like building plug-in cars.  The problem is legacy costs he claims - umm, those would be from the unions you love, Mr. President.

He claims he would like lean government – what a joke!  And then he exits leaving poor Helen Thomas in the front row without having let her ask an inane question.

Grade Obama’s First 100 Days

Good Riddance Arlen Sphincter

Senator Arlen Specter announced today that he is switching parties from Republican to Democrat particularly for his run for re-election in 2010.  This came as no surprise to conservatives who already considered Senator Arlen Specter to be a Democrat anyway.  What was surprising was Sphincter’s referral to himself as a moderate Republican who felt pushed out of the party by its move to the right.  As a conservative, I actually believe that the Republican party may have moved further to the right, but that only puts it in the middle from the left lean it had taken.  That means that Sphincter was and is actually a liberal.

The truth behind this move is that Sen. Sphincter knew he could not win in the primary in 2010.  The Republicans who have voted him in far too many times have finally reached their limit.  This certainly is a gift for Obama to mark his 100th day.  Now he has a philibuster-proof Senate even without Al Frankenstein.  Sphincter claimed that he is not a guaranteed vote for the Democrats, but I really doubt that.

This truly shines light on a man who is without principles and values.  He’ll fit right in with the liberal Democrats.

Another Housing Plan Set To Roll Forward

The Obama administration seems to be unable to accept two facts: 1) Banks are not stupid and no longer want to take risks and 2) Irresponsible homeowners are unable to qualify for loans still.  No matter what incentives you tack on to a housing plan, it will not convince banks to make risky loans again and the incentives the administration is offering are pathetic.  Mortgage companies would get $500 upfront for each loan they modify and then $250 a year for three years as long as the borrower does not default.  After the losses these banks have suffered, I cannot image those amounts of dollars are attractive.  And many of these borrowers who need to renegotiate mortgages have already proven to be people who default.  The fact is that many mortgages that have been renegotiated have defaulted again.

And the government wants to give borrowers up to $1,000 over five years and pick up investor’s costs as well.  That means the government wants to get more money from me to pay for people’s homes.  Where is my house?

The reason the government is trying this new plan is because their “Hope for Homeowners” program has fallen flat.  The banks simply do not want to absorb the huge losses and who can blame them especially when the different groups like ACORN and the government forced many of those banks to make these idiotic loans.

And foreclosures are still on the rise.  Another piece of Obama’s housing plan will more than likely be defeated in the Senate as well which would have allowed homeowners to seek mortgage relief in bankruptcy court.  Many people think the housing crisis is past us, but they are horribly uninformed.  And no one is talking about all those empty office buildings and commercial properties that will soon begin defaulting and create some kind of commercial real estate bubble to burst.

President Obama’s First 100 Days

Since the Presidency of Franklin D. Roosevelt, the benchmark of “first 100 days” has been used to measure the early success of presidents. President Obama will reach that measuring point this week and has planned a press conference to mark the day. He will, of course, read all of his “successful” moves off of the Teleprompter trying to convince the American people that no president before him has ever accomplished so much and so rapidly. The Teleprompter may be right, although accomplishing much does not necessarily equate success.

President Obama’s early actions include a resolution and promise to close to Gitmo with no plan of where to move the detainees, overturning the Mexico City Policy which leaves Americans funding international abortions, a first interview as President with Arabic TV rather than American and reports that Obama keeps the heat so high in the Oval Office that tropical plants would thrive while he tells Americans they cannot keep their heat at 72 degrees. There was the Porkulus Recovery Bill, which so inflamed the silent majority in America that they have taken to the streets in protest against government’s wasteful spending and taxation. This Pork bill rolled in at $770 billion adding more spending atop the previous TARP bailout bill of over $700 billion that Obama voted for as Senator. This Recovery bill was touted as something that would provide immediate jobs and stimulus. Neither of those items has occurred and job losses are racking up steadily with 595,000 in January; 651,000 in February; and 663.000 in March.

Obama has also handled the economic crisis by attacking business. In January he said, “There will be time for them to make profits and there will be time for them to get bonuses. Now is not that time.” He also promised to raise taxes on those making $250,000 and above annually which strikes at the heart of many small businesses. Barack Obama basically fired the CEO of General Motors. Card check was brought to the table to embolden unions and ruin private businesses such as Wal-Mart. All of these actions reveal a President who wants to control business in this country – a Marxist move.

The President has promised to bring universal healthcare to America and has made a $600 billion down payment on that promise – money this country does not have. He signed into law an expanded SCHIP program providing four million more children with healthcare including those from upper middle class families and including “children” into their thirties.  Through all the bailouts the President and his administration have pledged $9.7 trillion of taxpayer money. That is in addition to the $11 trillion current national debt. He signed into law a housing bailout that $75 billion towards foreclosures and $400 billion to Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac without any provisions to make sure the irresponsible would not benefit. The CEO of Freddie Mac killed himself last week under the pressure.

Bank nationalization continues to roll forward as stories come to light that Bank of America was forced by Obama officials to buy Merrill Lynch and other smaller banks were forced to take TARP funds. The administration is now not allowing the banks to pay back those funds and is conducting stress tests meant to keep these banks under governmental control.

The President promised tax cuts which have amounted for some people to a measly increase in their paychecks of $13 a week. He held a Fiscal Responsibility Conference right before signing an earmark laden Omnibus Bill that amounted to $410 billion more in spending. Shortly thereafter, he presented Congress with his $3.6 trillion budget indicating that Obama will spend more than any other president before him…combined. The non-partisan Congressional Budget Office claims that Obama’s budget is unsustainable. Over half of Americans are “very worried” that the rising national debt will hurt their children and grandchildren according to an AP/GfK Poll. The other half is not paying attention. Obama’s claims of cutting $2 trillion and halving the deficit are spread out over ten years, which leaves America with no immediate relief and leaves the problems in the hands of his successor. He informed America last week that his administration had saved $100 million in spending by making cuts in various departments. Most people missed the two times during that briefing when the President said the savings would be used to fund other programs. That means there were no “cuts”,  just shifting around of money.

The President overturned embryonic stem cell research, a completely unproven science.  He has also begun implementation of a mandatory volunteer program.

Most recently, the President has broken down the image and security of America in the world. He went on an Apology Tour I through Europe in which he promised to rid the world of nuclear weapons starting with America. He gave a tepid response to North Korea’s testing of a long-range missile during his tour. He bowed in subservience to the Saudi king and lied about it later. On Apology Tour II through Latin America, he overturned restrictions on Cuba and cozied up to the Castros and warmly greeted Hugo Chavez and accepted an anti-American book from him. He sat through an hour-long anti-American rant from Nicaragua’s Daniel Ortega and gave no response. He has released memos about top-secret interrogation techniques and outlawed those techniques – a direct act of treason. Article 3, Section 3 of the Constitution: “Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort.” The releasing of those memos gives aid to our enemies. Barack Obama has “told” the world that America wants to go back to its paper tiger image and pre 9/11 thinking.

The President has broken nearly every campaign promise. Thirty lobbyists work for him after he promised to never hire any. Tax cheats have been nominated to his cabinet and several were confirmed. The President has wavered between dire warnings of impending peril to glimmers of hope leaving people unsure of the future and unconfident in his capabilities. His goals of transparency are unattained particularly at recovery.gov which monitors the stimulus. There has been no direct oversight of TARP funds or stimulus funds. The call for oversight came in February when it was revealed that there was none and we are still waiting. The President promises to fight the unproven global warming threat with new alternative energy as he wastes thousands of gallons of fuels for photo ops in different states in front of solar panels and wind turbines. The latter happening on Earth Day. The hypocrisy is blatant. The elitism is blatant. The President seems to be practicing the theory of “do as I say, not as I do.”

The few positive steps the President has made are the handling of the Somali pirate situation, the troop surge for Afghanistan and the boycott of the UN’s Racism Conference.

The road ahead is laden with even more challenges. A new swine flu is threatening America and the President’s initial response of playing golf while he sends out his cronies seems to indicate he has better things to do then worry about pandemics. The Taliban is within 60 miles of nuclear weapons in Pakistan. Illegal immigration continues to be a growing problem and another inflamed situation that could turn America into a boiling pot rather than a melting pot. The liberals will claim that the President has done a lot of good and accomplished much. Liberty-loving, common sense Americans on the other hand are trying to calculate how long it will take to undo the damage, how to stop Barack Obama before America slides completely into socialism and just how many generations will be stuck with the spending bills and debt.

What Is With This Swine Flu?

Occassionally, I do find myself reaching for my tinfoil hat and today is one of those days.  I featured the news today on my Freedom’s Wings Radio Show that some kind of new influenza dubbed the “swine flu” had broken out.  As I read the news story and said the words, “This virus is a mix of human, pig and bird strains…” I found myself wondering how in the world that was possible and commented to that effect.  Really…how do human, pig and bird flus combine genetically in a natural setting?  My common sense brain tells me that type of scenario is just not possible.  This has to be some kind of man-made virus.  A caller to my show shared the same belief and I am seeing similar beliefs popping up around the internet.

The other item that makes this outbreak strange is the fact that America has outbreaks in four different states currently: Texas, California, Kansas and New York.  The swine flu appears to have originated in Mexico so border states seem like likely places for the flu to cross over, but New York and Kansas?  So far 68 people have died, but no one in America as of yet.  There have been 11 cases here thus far.

World Health Organization director-general, Margaret Chan, said the outbreak in Mexico and the United States constituted a “public health emergency of international concern.”  This declaration stops short of declaring that borders be closed and does not call the virus a “pandemic”, but the WHO did say that it has that potential.

So my questions are who made this stuff, was this some kind of laboratory experiment and who released it or how was it released?  Could this be some kind of bioweapon?  My tinfoil hat is buzzing.  I guess we will have to stay tuned for details, but I am watching this thing like a hawk while I also keep my attention on what the media is not reporting.  Usually when big stories like this are released and one hand is talking all about that here, the other hand is doing something over there that we are not suppose to be watching.  Call me a conspiracy nut job, but something is not adding up here.

GE Shareholder Meeting Leaves CEO Immelt Under Fire

I have had General Electric (GE) in my radar scope for months now.  GE stands to make a ton of money off all this alternative energy like wind turbines and CEO Jeff Immelt has been at the center of a push that included the green jobs and alternative energy elements in the Porkulus Bill.  And conservatives are well aware that NBC and MSNBC are Obama shills.  On Wednesday, the GE shareholders held a meeting here in Florida that Jeff Immelt attended.  Jesse Watters, a Fox News producer, also attended the meeting and asked Jeff Immelt a question about the bias on MSNBC.

The question referenced Janeane Garofalo’s appearance on Countdown with Keith Olberdork and why Olberdork did not question her claim that tea party attendees are redneck racists.  The microphone was cut off, but when one listens to the audio, it is apparent that the crowd was on Watters side and booed Jeff Immelt who claimed that MSNBC has “standards”.  Watters was not the only one bringing Immelt under fire.  At least ten other questions were asked of Immelt about the slant of MSNBC against conservatives and pro-Obama to the extreme.  One other questioner’s microphone was cut off as well.  That woman asked about a reported meeting where Jeff Immelt and NBC/Universal CEO Jeff Zucker supposedly told top CNBC executives to be less critical of President Obama and his policies.

Immelt answered that the CNBC meeting took place, but claims that no one was told what to say along political lines.  Immelt also claimed he takes a “hands off” position in regards to the news channels.

“The crowd was very upset with MSNBC because of its leftward tilt,” one attendee said. “Some former employees said they were embarrassed by it.”

GE just continues to be a champion for Obama and remember, Jeff Immelt is part of Obama’s economic team.  I am not sure who is the puppet and who is the puppetmaster here, but keep your eyes on GE.

Kudos To Miss California 2009

UPDATE:  June 10, 2009  Carrie Prejean has now been stripped of her Miss California title for breach of contract because she has not made personal appearances that she was contractually obligated to fulfill.  Where exactly would that be condoned in the Christian world?  You have to be a person of your word Carrie if you want to maintain respect and for me personally, I truly find my initial support of you something that may have been given too quickly.  I do support your right of free speech and your rejection of gay marriage, Carrie,  but as someone who has thrust herself into the spotlight as a Christian representative, you have to live at a different standard.  Here was the statement from the Miss California Organization, “The Miss California USA Organization, in conjunction with the Miss Universe Organization and with the blessing of its owner, Mr. Donald J. Trump, announced today the termination of Carrie Prejean as Miss California USA 2009, citing continued breach of contract issues.”

UPDATE:  May 1st, 2009  My support for Carrie Prejean is waning.  Last night, I watched Ms. Prejean being interviewed by Greta Van Sustren.  Greta asked Miss California her opinion on civil unions.  Several times Ms. Prejean answered that she was not a politician and needed to study the matter more.  Hmm…why was this not her answer at the pageant then?  Greta asked for her opinion – the same thing I have supported her for giving at the pageant.  Now I think she is catering to the group that is using her new found fame to support their fight against gay marriage.  After all, she did say at the pageant that this is America and people could choose what they want.  And even worse, she appears to have turned her back on the cause she had promised herself to: the Special Olympics.  And her promoters are none too happy.  When you turn your back on the disabled for your fame, I take issue with you.

As a Christian conservative gay woman, I feel that I should comment on the controversy that occured at the Miss USA contest.  Despicable gay activist Perez Hilton was a judge on the panel at the event.  Let me be clear that this man does not represent the gay community in whole and most definately does not represent me.  For one, he should never have asked a question about gay marriage at this type of event.  Politics do not belong at a beauty contest.  But even if that was acceptable to me, the reaction of this twit to the answer is atrocious.

Miss California was asked her opinion about gay marriage and I have to commend her for sticking to her convictions.  And her conviction is that marriage should be between a man and a woman.  She answered in a pleasant way explaining that she did not want to offend anyone.  That was a fair answer.  I applaud her for sticking to her principles.  Perez Hilton handled the situation quite differently.  He blasted Miss California on the internet calling her a dumb b%$#%.  Charming indeed.  What is most laughable to me is that I am sure Hilton is one of those gay men who stays in a relationship for five minutes.  I could be wrong, but I doubt that.

As I have stated before, I believe government should have nothing to do with marriage, period.  It should be something between the couple, their church and their God.  Defining marriage as being between a man and a woman is fine with me.  Marriage has lost its lustre as far as I am concerned anyway since half of them end in divorce.  What I do believe should happen on the legal end of things is contracts for unions for straights and gays.  It should be just as difficult for straight people to be together as it is for gay people.  A couple would enter into a contract that gives all the legal rights and inheritance issues to each other.  That couple could be any two people, so even if an older widowed parent enters into the contract with their single offspring in order to obtain benefits that is fine with me.  I do not even have a problem with polygamy, but when it comes to the contract only one spouse can enter into the contract.  I am a Libertarian in this area and believe live and let live.

I have a right to my opinion and Miss California has a right to hers and should not be thrashed for it or even be marked down in a competition for her answer.  As for Perez Hilton – go crawl under a rock where you belong, Snake.

Obama Throws Tea Partiers A Bone With Spending “Cuts”

Yesterday, our illustrious leader had his first full cabinet meeting in which he demanded that everybody tighten their belts and make some cuts so that the administration could cut $100 million in spending.  Wow, he sure listened to us tea partiers.  This is the equivalent of throwing us all a bone and what I mean by that is that there is no meat here.  Did the President cut anything in his whopping nearly $4 trillion budget?  Absolutely not.  And what is $100 million in comparison to that number – a drop in the bucket.  And that is exactly what the President called this which I guess is suppose to earn our trust.

As I listened to the press conference yesterday after the cabinet meeting, I could not help but notice that the areas that Obama mentioned were making cuts were Homeland Security and Defense.  (Homeland Security realized that you could save money buying office supplies in bulk.)

President Obama was asked if the efficiency saving isn’t just “a drop in the bucket”. “It is,” he replied. “None of these things alone are going to make a difference. But cumulatively, they make an extraordinary difference because they start setting a tone … $100 million there, $100 million here – pretty soon, even here in Washington, it adds up to real money.”  The President also commented, “We also have a deficit – a confidence gap – when it comes to the American people. And we’ve got to earn their trust.”

The AP is reporting, “The federal deficit for March alone was $192.3 billion, and $100 million would represent a minuscule portion of that sum, roughly one-twentieth of 1 percent. Obama in February brought forward a $3.6 trillion budget for the 2010 fiscal year, beginning Oct. 1, a proposal that would produce $9.3 trillion in deficits over the next decade.”

White House spokesmoron Robert Gibbs said the president “has laid out cuts large and small in administrative costs” and in programs throughout the government.  What a dope!

Here are some of the proposed cuts which really are hilarious since no entitlment programs are getting cuts and when one looks at how the government is growing with all the new positions and boards and corps Obama is creating:

-DHS can save $51 million buying office supplies in bulk.

-$6.7 million could be saved over the first five years by having U.S. attorney offices and the U.S. Marshals Offices’ Asset Forfeiture program convert publication of forfeiture notices from newspapers to the Internet.

-$5 million a year could be saved by consolidating embassy posts at the State Department and U.S. Agency for International Development.

-$62 million could be saved over a 15-year lease term if the Agriculture Department combines roughly 1,500 employees from seven leased locations into a single facility by early 2011.

Also keep in mind that these are cuts brought on over a number of years – a trick Obama continuously uses to make the ill-informed in this society think he is doing a great job with his “change”.  Stay tuned for more tea parties – we will make them listen!
