Obama Is Not President Abraham Lincoln

December 24, 2008 · 5 Comments

I find it laughable everytime the media reports another element of President-elect Barack Obama’s upcoming Inauguration and it is about Obama incorporating something else that emulates President Lincoln.  No matter how hard he tries to bamboozle the country with the idea that he loves Lincoln and wants to be like Lincoln, I will not be fooled.  Obama obviously does not know President Lincoln, a man who’s shoes Obama could never wear.  Everyone seems to think that President Lincoln would be elated about the Obama choice, but when one steps past the whole race thing (which most blacks in this country cannot or are unwilling to do) they would see that President Lincoln would be horrified with Obama’s plans for this country.  Here are just a few things that Lincoln said that prove my point:

“America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves.”

“Avoid popularity if you would have peace.”

“Character is like a tree and reputation like a shadow. The shadow is what we think of it; the tree is the real thing.”

“Don’t interfere with anything in the Constitution. That must be maintained, for it is the only safeguard of our liberties.”

“Government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the Earth.”

These are just a few things that everyone in our government would do well to heed. I’m not just down on Obama, it is our whole government at this point with a very few exceptions. My point is that if Obama really wants to model himself after President Lincoln, he needs to study Lincoln’s ideas and beliefs which have nothing to do with big government and socialism. Making the trip to Washington D.C. on a train following Lincoln’s journey and swearing in on Lincoln’s bible does not make one President Lincoln. President Lincoln was not perfect in everything he did and there are things to learn from his mistakes as well. Unfortunately, I do not believe Obama is interested in learning anything as he is proving by pushing forward more deficit spending without regard, despite warnings.

And President Lincoln would never have spent a holiday at a swanky million dollar retreat while the rest of the nation suffered. I understand that Hawaii is supposedly home for Obama (I could have sworn that Chicago was his new home) but it wasn’t a good time for him to go to Hawaii when his grandmother died, why is now a good time? I’m sure the little peons that he calls constiuents understand. He’s elite after all and cannot help himself.

I thought the Hawaii trip was a slap in the face for all those especially here in OH and in WI who are losing their jobs right before Christmas as GM closes down plants. What he should be doing for Christmas is working the soup lines and helping others! Merry Christmas, sweetie. Cheers!

croneandbearit … When Obama was working hard for everyday people, in Chicago (when he could have become a rich corporate lawyer), he was later criticized and mocked by Republicans for just being a mere “community organizer.”

Give us a break, Sandy. Obama’s wife has been making six figures for years and Obama was making money on his books. Obama has never been anything other than an elitist using the poor to his own gain. How much better off are those people in Chicago? Rezco’s slums are now closed and crime is through the roof in Obama’s district – Jennifer Hudson’s family lived there as a matter of fact. Open your eyes and stop being fooled by the ultimate politician – Obama. You probably think he came through the muck of Chicago politics clean, also.

Sandy..? Try taking a hit off a truth pipe, instead of what you have been smoking…

I lived in Africa for five years, nearly all the presidents over there have their image on the currency, and just the other day I saw a TV commercial for Obama’s likeness on several commemorative coins. Maybe it’s only a matter of time before we get him on Rushmore, or take Lincoln’s place on the five!
